Egg Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This was a great recipe, very filling and wonderful alongside fresh strawberry preserves. However, I did have one modification: had no pizza dough, so I used flaky biscuits (pillsbury), and flattened them on bottom of the baking pan. I only prewarmed them 4 minutes @ 375' preheated oven, and I didn't flip them before adding the top (eggs, soup, etc.). I raised the heat to 400' and baked about 18 minutes. I do suggest this idea to anyone who would like to try a twist on an already good recipe. My twin 3 year olds ate it "all gone!" Thank you!

Great slaw...toddler loved it. I used sunflower seeds (honey roasted) instead of poppy, and prefer w/ out the onion. Thanks :)

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
The taste is very good; a great side dish to Baby back ribs done on the BBQ. The only negative would be that during the 25 minutes you are stirring in the vegie stock, it is very labor intensive for the one who stirs. Still a small price to pay for an excellent dish. Moops

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
This was a very good recipe. I did do a few modifications, however. I boiled my pasta in the chicken broth/stock (that I had from boiling a whole cut up chicken). I did not add brocolli, and did add a can of rotel, and a can of stewed tomatoes. Thanks for the recipe!

Sloppy Joe Biscuit Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
Lots of modifications: Due to what i had on hand, and knowing what I do and do not like... I used a large jar of sloppy joe prepared sauce, one teaspoon of minced garlic, one half chopped bell pepper, and I poured prepared bisquick (made with milk and 2 eggs) on top of the cheese mixture, instead of using prepared biscuits. Good recipe for the young ones :) thanx.

I followed recipe with the following changes after sampling while preparing, to suit my tastes. I didn't use flour, or ketchup. I made two cups of gravy and mixed it with the ground beef and the carrots before putting it in the casserole dish. IT went FAST. Inlaws, husband and babies ate it up. Great wholesome meal with everything right there in one dish. Thanks.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
Used what i had on hand, substituted chicken~jalepeno sausage for chicken, and regular cream of mushroom soup (1/2 of the can)~added a teaspoon of cajun seasoning, and some sliced black olives. I used bowtie pasta instead. To give it a little more of an italian flare, I added one can of diced italian tomatoes, and it was fantastic :)>

This was very, very good, and very, very easy! Only change I made was adding more salt after they were done, and out of the oven. Thanks! OH, and I didn't have green onions, so I used some basil instead...great flavor.

Merwin's Shrimp Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I am from, born and raised, south louisiana. So, I grew up on things like gumbo and stews. This was a very, very good gumbo recipe with the following modifications to suit our tastes and from what I had on hand. Instead of smoked sausage, I ALWAYS use andouille sausage (enhances gumbo flavor), did not use chicken or green onions. I added one teaspoon of seafood boil (crab boil), and two teaspoons of tigers sauce. I do not put thyme in our gumbo, and do not add file to the pot....I allow those who like file to add it to their bowls...Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

Excellent recipe just as is. Very kid friendly and husband loved it too :)...said he was eating it slow so he didn't eat too much :). If you are entertaining and not worrying about fat, I suggest using 2 packs of cream cheese ( can use lower fat version) for a more rich, creamy dessert.

Crispy Fish Fillets

GREAT. My dish was made with flounder filets. I get them from Sam's Club, and they are nice if you have never got them there. I did as other's said. I used a little flour before dipping in egg mixture (in which I used spicey mustard). I added parmesean cheese (1/2 cup) and two tablespoons of cajun seasonning to the instant garlic mashed potatoes....excellent, and will be making again.

Angel Hair Pasta with Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
This was great...I did use Tiger sauce, as the hot sauce, has good flavor and not just 'hot.' Also, being a cajun gal, I added 1 teaspoon of tony's cajun seasoning to the shrimp when cooking them. I used fresh mushrooms instead of brocolli, and whipping cream instead of half and half...GREAT!

Shrimp Fried Rice I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This was good but can be made better by tweaking it some...sorry. Here are some adjustments I made to suit our tastes, and the end result was delicious. First of all, to save time and stove space, I cooked rice in microwave while preparing other foods. (used one cup uncooked rice) I didn't use celery, used 1/2 yellow onion, one half red, and 1 bell pepper. I added a little teriyaki sauce and a teaspoon of soy sauce to sesame oil when I stirfried my shirmp. When putting all of them together at end of cooking, the vegetables, shrimp, and rice...I used 1/4 cup of soysauce and 1/2 teaspoon of ginger, and mixed well...hope this helps.

We made this last night for Christmas guests. Everyone who tasted it loved it. I did not have or use peanuts, used pecans instead (which I like), and used sesame ginger dressing instead of olive oil. I can guarantee that we will be making this again soon...healthy and tasty! thanks!OH, and to add more for the kiddos, I suggest added some craisens or raisens... :)

Parmesan Orange Roughy

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I thought this was very simple, and very good...but I added some cajun seasoning to the cheese and crumb mixture to give it some zing, and a little yellow mustard and a bit of salt to the egg/milk mixture. I used white fish, lemon fish for this since that is what i had on hand...I suggest broiling the fist for the last 3 minutes or so, to nicely brown the top.
