Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This is very good, didn't change anything but have one question or should I say comment. I am not understanding why this is called swiss steak when this is much the same as my own recipe for beef stew. Swiss steak that I make is done with flour, without the veggies, with meat and done in a skillet on top of the stove with a thick and hearty gravy. I'm confused

Baked Beans with Heatness and Sweetness

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
Never seemed to get "done." The flavor was wonderful, I cooked them almost an hour longer than the recipe stated. I can't figure out what I did wrong.

Zucchini Bread III

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This turned out okay..I've never had zucchini bread before. I split the batch between a loaf and 6 miffins. I substituted applesauce for the oil and egg whites for the eggs. I also used all whole wheat flour, used flaxsed instead of wheat germ, cut the sugar in half, and used walnuts. I may use a little more brown sugar next time...but I like my muffins not too sweet.

My family really liked this recipe. I substitued Campbells Fiesta cheese soup for the cream of mushroom soup and I omitted the green chiles. My two picky teenagers had seconds!

Win's Shrimp and Spaghetti

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
This was wonderful. The sauce was not too heavy and had a nice little zip to it. I added green onion and mushrooms when I sauted the shrimp. I don't think it changed the flavor very much, but it added some color.

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
This is the last time I will try a recipie without reading the reviews! The 2 1/2 cups of water was way too much! I only started out adding 1 cup and found that it was already too runny. Then with all that apple juice concentrate, it barely tasted like pumpkin! I had to doctor it up quite a bit to get the flavor and consistency I wanted. I added cool whip, ice, more cinnimon, nutmeg, and 1/2 of a vanilla soy yogurt. It turned out great after that!

This recipe gets even better after the first time you have it. The peaches, sauce and everything are just the right texture. VERY GOOD! :-)

Florentine Curried Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2005
I used six chicken breasts and sliced them into 1/4 inch thick pieces that were between 1/2 inch and 2 inches long. It didn't take 1 1/2 hour to cook, only 30 minutes for the chicken, and then I added the cheese which took about 10 minutes to melt. This was/is a really excellent recipe that sneaks spinach into my diet. :-)
