This crust is perfect! It's light and fluffy and browned perfectly. If you're looking for just a plain pizza dough, this is it.

Chicken Biryani, Hyderabadi Style

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This sounds so good, but I was really disappointed at the fact that it had so many good tasting ingredients but such a lack of flavor. I don't understand how this turned out to be so bland, and I don't think I'll make it again.

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
This was pretty good. I added 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard for extra flavor. You know how you can add baking soda to beans while their cooking to cut down the gassiness? Yeah, DON'T DO THAT WITH THIS RECIPE. It didn't really change the flavor, it just made a huge mess on my stove because it caused it to keep boiling over. Other than the mess, it was good. It would make a good winter soup.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I tried this because my husband loves pot roast and I usually don't like it at all - this recipe sounded interesting. I LOVED it! My husband liked it, too, and it will be made again. We had it with mashed potatoes the first night and served the leftovers over rice - wonderful!

Royal Icing III

Works wonderfully! It can be thinned out a little with water to paint cookies with, too. Taste isn't great, but royal icing isn't necessarily for tasting...

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I made this for my daughter's birthday party and everyone loved it! I separated the eggs and added the beaten whites at the end and I also cut the sugar back to 1 1/2 cups. One more thing I did was add about 1/2 cup of Polaner's strawberry All Fruit. Fabulous! I'll make this again.

This was a great recipe! I didn't use very much cornmeal, just enough for a light crunch, but these were very tasty, and I can't wait to make them again!

Drunken Winter Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
This was very tasty. I was craving some soup with cabbage and this recipe hit the spot. I used great Northern beans instead of kidney beans, but I think it would be just as good with kidney beans. I used a bottle of Newcastle Brown beer, and I added the Dijon mustard, but it was still kind of bland so I added about 2 tablespoons of pretty strong horseradish mustard, and that gave it a little kick. I also added another teaspoon of garlic powder. This is a good winter soup recipe. Thanks!

Hungarian Goulash II

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
This would have been good but it was so salty that I almost couldn't eat it! I will try making it again, because aside from the saltiness, it tasted pretty good. But next time, I'm omitting the salt and will probably add more sugar and use tomato sauce instead of ketchup. It wasn't very saucy and turned out a bit dry...

Honey Coconut Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This is tasty! The best parts are the edges where the sugars have caramelized. I cut the butter down to 1/2 stick (4 tablespoons), used 1/2 cup of honey, and didn't change the other ingredients. I'm making it that way from now on. Hubby loved it. I served it with coconut jasmine rice and steamed green beans.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Fabulous recipe! My trick for "clean" cookie shapes is to press the cookie dough into a jelly roll pan (I put a silpat on the bottom) and bake it until lightly browned. After it has cooled, I cut out the cookies. You get a much better looking cookie that way - no spreading!

Curry Pumpkin Soup

This is pretty good. It's not something I would like to eat very often, though. I made it for dinner and then had leftovers for lunch and I got tired of eating it. I added some ginger and cinnamon to brighten the flavor a bit.

This was good but I have had better by far. There just didn't seem to be much flavor to it at all and I even added about a cup of Jalapenos to the meat. Hubby says its not a keeper sorry!

Sorry but this was kind of bland. Wasn't crazy about it. It sounded good, but it doesn't have much of a sauce...it was too runny. Probably won't make again.

Salmon Cakes

4 1/2 stars It's a pain in the butt but the taste is awesome. The cakes are creamy and not too fishy. Might want to halve this recipe. When mixing patty mixture, if it is too wet, gradually add breadcrumbs until it holds together well. Add 1 T chives to mixture.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Delicious! I followed another reviewer's suggestion and added garlic powder and season salt to the flour (I used Accent Season Salt). I also used water instead of vermouth and it still turned out great. I will probably add 1 more can of the mushroom soup next time so there is more gravy. There were no leftovers left after dinner. This is a great recipe!

Excellent and Healthy Cornbread

Fantastic! Very easy and very tasty. I was worried about it not tasting much like regular cornbread since it's got yogurt in it, but it's great! And moist and chewy. Goes really well with the Ham and Beans recipe. Thanks very much!
