Campfire Vidalias

Amazing! This is so versatile you can create different variations. I do alter mine & have made several different ways & they always taste great. I add a beef bouillon cubes, Greek seasoning & a dash of Worchester and it tastes like French onion soup. Wrapped tightly in foil. I have also tried cinnamon & brown sugar for a different twist. Love it. Be creative

California Salad Bowl

As much as I wanted to Love this salad. I didn't. Taste like a taco salad with your meat & the dressing was very slimy- Oily. I think I'll stick to a 7 layer salad or something else. Thanks for the post though. I like trying new things.

Pizza On The Grill I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
I just made this pizza for my pizza "snob" boyfriend and boy howdy was he impressed! He said it was better than the brick oven pizza place, which is high praise indeed. Thank you for the great idea. I only made one change and that was one of the pizzas I only topped it with pepperoni as that is all he will eat on it. I will be making this on a regular basis and it is sooooo much better than just cooking it on a stone.

Great! Although, I did omit the raisins & nuts. I did use 8 oz. of sour cream & you may want to reduce the brown sugar a bit. It is for the sweet tooth but it is Wonderful!

Balsamic Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
This recipe is a great find! I try to find new and interesting ways to fix veggies, this is so easy, and tastes great! I used regular carrots, cut into small pieces. Definately need to par-boil for a few minutes before sauteeing

Fried Cabbage Texas Style

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
I really enjoyed this cabbage, next time I may use 4 slices of bacon to make a little less greasy. My boyfriend, who is quite daring in the kitchen, made mini-eggrolls with some wonton wrappers and the leftover cabbage the next day, and as strange as it sounds, they were fabulous, spicy, little egg rolls.

Dad's Down Home Cornbread and Jalapeno Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
I am always looking for good ways to make meatloaf. I thought this was very good, a nice change from the regular versions. I used corn muffin mix, instead of crumbs, and all ground beef, instead of beef/pork. Also, I cooked on a rack so the grease drained. It retained it's loaf shape, and was great the next day!

Drunken Roasted Salsa

This salsa was very tasty! The roasted peppers made it extra good, and were quite easy to prepare. I used fresh tomato only, and used a whole onion.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
These cookies are really good, but I don't think that they were GREAT so I am only giving them 4 stars. I felt that the actual cookie part was lacking some flavor and my husband agreed. I made the changes that were suggested. I'm going to try a few more recipes but may come back to this one. Over all a good cookie!

Pretty good brownies! I took other suggestions and just added 2 eggs and left out the baking soda. Also added some semi-sweet choc chips.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
This recipe was fantastic! I used 4 cups of zucchini like someone suggested and I also used 1 1/4 cups of white sugar and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. I only put nuts in one of the loaves because my son won't eat anything with nuts in it. They came out perfect. I have a feeling they will be gone quickly.

Oatmeal Waffles

Reviewed: May 31, 2007
Made them once as shown; that's the rating I gave. Second time added about 1/3 c fine chopped walnuts, and 1/2 c dried cranberries; and used 1/2 c oat flour for 1/2 c of the regular flour. I'd give that a 5 star rating as it had more pizzaz. Either way, it's an easy and delicious alternative to the norm.

Texas Sheet Cake VI

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
Couldn't find the recipe I've used for years for a texas sheet cake - I'm glad cause this is waaaay better than the one I had! Very moist (the sour cream?) and I thought a great texture. Used new dark chocolate cocoa and instant coffee crystals in hot water - easy, easy, easy. Took to a big pot luck; lot of chocolate things and this was the only one that disappeared, despite being the largest pan. Try it - you'll like it!

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
You're not kidding, This is Finger licking good. Mine was not runny although after reading other reviews I did the following: Added a little more mayo to the mixture to thicken it a bit and didn't use all of the sauce in the coleslaw. I did let mine set in the fridge for couple of hours. *NOTE* for the one who said it wasn't creamy enough----You MUST use buttermilk

Sour Cream Burgers

These are FANTASTIC! ~~~Yummmmm~~~ I did keep them in a ball overnight so the flavors would savor. My family & friends couldn't get enough of them & devoured every one. Thanks this is a super duper recipe. I didn't have any problem with mine falling thru the grate, maybe because I left them in a big ball after mixing & let set overnite

Wacky Cake VIII

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
Just average for me. It was moist and given that it has no eggs or dairy it was ok. But it really had no depth or richness. I prefer something with a bit more oomph to it - some kind of wow factor - and this didn't have it.
