Easy Mac and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
We enjoyed the simplicity of this soup. A few reviews said that it was a little bland so I added more ham, garlic and black pepper. This is not meant to be complex in flavor, it's a comfort food. Loved it!

Caramel-Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Good cookie recipe. I thought it was easier to work with than what some of the other reviewers said. Keep the dough and the rolos chilled and it's not quite as sticky. The pecans added more flavor to the cookie and helped to balance some of the sweetness so I wouldn't leave those out. Next time I will roll them in powdered sugar and cocoa powder instead of the granulated sugar. I didn't not like the texture with with the sugar on top, but it was pretty.

White Chocolate Macadamia Cranberry Dreams

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I've always wanted to find a white chocolate cookie that tastes like it came from a gourmet bakery and this is it! I think these would be fabulous with or without the cranberries. The butter and full tablespoon of vanilla are musts for creating the perfect flavor and texture in this delicious cookie recipe!

Husband's Delight

My husband and I loved this recipe. I think the sour cream and cream cheese really gave it a rich, unique taste. Not just another "noodle" recipe.

Soft Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
I didn't like these cookies very much. They are kind of bland and you can barely taste the pumpkin. I think the blandness would be balanced with some frosting which I'm going to try.

Banana Cake X

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I really enjoyed this banana cake and thought that it was very similar to banana bread. I made cupcakes with it and added miniature chocolate chips to some of the cupcakes. You don't really need frosting with this cake. It's plenty sweet and flavorful enough by itself.

Normal Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
This was extremely bland. I took the foil off of the baking dish half way through in hopes that the sauce would thicken and stick to the meat. No luck. I added brown sugar as was suggested along with a little garlic powder and ginger. The sauce tasted good, but didn't really flavor the chicken (and I basted several times). If I try this again, I will probably marinate them in the sauce and season the chicken breasts before baking.

Easy Lemon Cookies

These were soft and chewy. Next time I might add a little lemon zest and fresh lemon juice to boost the lemon flavor. I have to admit, I liked these a lot better than I thought I would! :)

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
Great recipe for a busy weeknight! You can do all of the prep work in the time it takes for the oven to preheat. The flavor combination was pretty good, especially the honey mustard. My husband wouldn't eat it, but he only likes fish that's fried. :( I subbed dried parsley for fresh.

My whole family loved this, there is almost nothing left! My 11 year old daughter even ate 3 pieces and she rarely eats meat. It was just so juicy and tender, it was almost falling apart when I took it out of the oven. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Autumn Cheesecake

This is one of the best cheesecakes ever! I followed several of the suggestions, but I think it would have been good as written too. I'll definitely have to take this to work because it's too dangerous to leave in my fridge!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
Awesome recipe! I am very picky about blueberry muffins and these are wonderful. They are even better than Otis Spunkmeyer (and I always thought no one could beat them at one point.) I usually play with recipes but the only thing I did to this recipe was add some vanilla (don't know exactly how much because I just poured some in. Will make it again many times!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
This is a great recipe! I didn't make them "Big,Fat" but they were definitely the best and chewy! I used a regular sized cookie scoop from Pampered Chef and cooked the cookies for 11 minutes. They were golden around the edges and I let them sit on the pan for 3 minutes before I transferred to the cooling rack. I think the next time I will cut back on the salt a little bit because they were a little bit salty for me. (Even though I used unsalted butter.) I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 cup butter flavor Crisco just because I didn't have the last 1/4 cup of real butter. (They turned out so great though I don't think I will change it next time because they are so nice and chewy and perfect consistency I don't want to change it.) I think next time I will also cut back the chocolate chips to 1 1/2 cups because I like a little cookie with my chocolate and these had a lot of chocolate. (For those of you that complained that the cookie spread out to much....use parchment paper instead of greasing your cookie sheets.) Parchment Paper will make your cookies not spread out as much and grease seems to make the cookies spread out extra. This is definitely a keeper! I have thought that my old cookie recipe could not be improved but I think this one is better. I will continue to tweak it to my tastes but it is a great recipe! Thanks so much.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
When baking French or Italian breads, I brush the tops with a mixture of olive oil, oregano, and thyme. For bread I plan to use for garlic toast, I also add a little garlic powder and a pinch of salt. It gives a beautiful golden brown crust and the smell when it's baking is absolutely amazing!!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
This is a awesome recipe...for taste it is definitively a 5 star recipe. I was a tad disappointed that it had a bit to much liquid in it for my tastes but, even the caramel type liquid was wonderful (I would just prefer it to not have as much although perhaps my apples were just really juicey. I ended up cooking mine 15 minutes longer than suggested. Next time I think I will precook the apples a little bit after I get the caramel sauce done try putting the apples in it and letting it cook with it for a while. I didn't make a lattice pie crust so I just mixed most of the liquid except what I saved for the top with the apples and poured it all in before I put the top crust on. I made this recipe yesterday and it was gone before the day was over. I have already had requests to make it again. I used a recipe for a pie crust I found on the internet on another Recipe site and OMG it was the perfect combination to this pie. I had always thought I made great pie crusts but when everyone bit into this pie and the crust that I made I was told it was a apple pie flakey crust piece of heaven. I can't wait to play with this recipe a little bit (I did add a TBSP of vanilla, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and a 1/2 tsp of nutmeg (next time I think I will cut it down to 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg.) I am not sure if I will continue to put some of the liquid on top or not...I can't decide if I liked it or if I would prefer just a egg wash. It gave it a different look but, I just can't decide if I liked

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
Excellent (and up until today, I hated peach cobbler and baked peach pie)! The only thing that I did differently was to use Splenda in place of the white sugar in order to cut out a few calories and it was fine.
