Excellent! Made exactly as the recipe stated, only added 1t of vanilla. They turned out so good, my kids kept asking for more! Thanks so much for posting.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
This is a great staple banana bread recipe. I am playing around with different recipes and find that the ones that include sour cream are more moist and seems to taste more "bananany" - Adding chocolate chips or nuts helps this recipes add more taste.

our family loves this dish, however we fry our tortilla shells in a pan until crispy, and layer everything on top! kinda like a taco salad but so much better! ( I also season the meat so its not so bland)

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
My real rating for this recipe would be 4 3/4 stars, if I could do such a thing. I followed the original directions (no extra resting time or herbs; the only difference was that I used Kosher salt, because I always do) and got a 12 inch crust that was a nice thickness, crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside. The texture of this crust is FANTASTIC. The single slight problem I had with this dough is that my batch had a VERY yeasty flavor. I like the flavor of yeast bread a lot, but the yeast was slightly overpowering, possibly because I did just some veggie and olive oil toppings without sauce or cheese. Overall, especially for the speed and ease with which this can be made, this recipe is really great.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I JUUUST finished this recipe and it TRULY is THE bread recipe I've been looking for! It's very flavorful and it's definitely sandwich bread! I doubled the yeast amount and was able to get 2 loafs and 12 dinner rolls out of it. For those new to making bread, the amount of flour might seem too little when you first start kneading it, but it works out perfectly in the end.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

We used ground turkey and a few other changes like stuffing mix instead of bread crumbs and onion soup mix instead of minced onions. Makes a big difference, try it! Definately not dull with flavor when you make these changes.

My family (including out of town members) enjoyed this recipe. Next time I'll use a LOT less beef. Several did comment it tasted like Tuna! Easy, filling. We'll probably make it again.

Wow! That sums it up. I added a few more ingredients to this recipe. I added 1 pkg of onion soup mix and 1 tsp of worchestershire. I also used Guiness as the beer, and it really just came out amazingly good.

Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
These are excellent cookies! I did make a couple changes, however. I didn't have any shortening or real butter so I substituted 3/4 cup canola oil and added 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. After adding the milk the batter was too thin to make drop cookies so I just poured the batter into a 9 X 13 pan and baked them until they were light golden brown. Delicious!

First time making this and took to Thanksgiving gathering. It was a HUGE HIT! As others suggested, I used cinnabon frosting & baked in bundt pan. The aroma is incredible as it bakes. Make it & have a cup of coffee ready when it comes out of the oven. Thank you!

Cheesy Potato Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I have tried to make cheesy potato soup before and failed. This one was IT! I used the dried potato flakes instead of flour, salted butter, sharp cheddar cheese and some Velveeta cheese instead of the slices and I used dried parsley instead of fresh. Four adults and many comments later, I had one large serving left! I'm passing it on. Thank you for a winter-ready recipe!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
I took previous advice & put these on skewers; also, put them on my cookie cooling rack over a foil lined cookie sheet to bake and turned them several times. Clean up was a breeze! I also wrapped half a piece of bacon around each instead of a third, my error. Just more bacon flavor per yum! My husband thought the brown sugar was a bit too sweet. I thought they were fine, but think I may try brushing on a honey/bourbon mixture or thick barbeque sauce for variation. They stay together really well and mine had no toothpicks to hold them together after they were done.

Good but seemed like there wasn't enough lemon curd so maybe I got the smaller jar. Next time will use to or find a larger one becuase it was mostly crust and a little bit of lemon. But super easy and yummy.

I loved this! I made it with salmon and let it soak in lime juice, s&p, and chili lime seasoning for 30 mins. I then put it under the broiler till golden. When making the sauce i added the leftover marinade and it was so good there was no leftovers. YUM!

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Good - I added an additional 1 t of pumpkin spice to the mix and followed the others advise for the swapping of step 1 and 2. Overall I would say it tasted more like pumpkin pie than pumpkin cheesecake however, that didn't stop everyone from eating it all up.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Good and spicy! I only used one can of beans because it was all I had and I thought it was perfect. Three cans might be too much beans for our family. I forgot to add the cheese at the end and just added a dollop of sour cream to everyone's bowls! It was a great fall chili. thanks!
