These are delicious! They totally melt in your mouth! I didn't have any margarine, so I used butter instead. These will definitely make an encore in our house!

Taco Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was a total life-saver. I did add a little more cumin directly to the meat mixture after adding the seasoning mix to the meat.

Banana Pudding I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was fantastic! I was looking for a banana pudding for Thanksgiving that tasted like Mom's. I doubled the recipe, as suggested by other reviewers. I still used an 8 x 8 pan and added two more bananas. Everyone love it! I will definately make this one again!

Turkey Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
this recipe is easy to follow and customize to your tastes and supplies: I went all-leftovers! I used half cream of mushroom soup and half cream of chicken soup. Also, I used half and half instead of milk. Instead of the mixed vegetables, I stirred in some of our leftover green bean casserole, and a handful of frozen corn niblets. YUM!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
So easy that I agree with others- no need to buy the canned stuff again. I added 1/4 tsp. cinnamon which I thought was a nice touch. I simmered for about 12 min. Don't obsess over the time- just keep simmering and stir every couple of minutes until they are the consistency you like. I recommend making the day before and refrigerating overnight. They set up nicely this way.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Excellent soup. I used half red potatoes and half Yukon Gold. Did not peel. Also added some carrots and some frozen corn because I happened to have some and it seemed like the thing to do. It would have been very good without these additions though. Highly recommend.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
Love this recipe! My little town doesn't have quinoa, so I substitute cracked wheat bulgur (and I use chicken broth because that's what I have on hand). I also add a chopped green pepper and a can or two of diced tomatoes, extra cumin and garlic. I serve this with Salasa Chicken (super awesome recipe). With the leftovers, I use it as taco or fajita topping in place of salsa. We don't really make things over and over in our house, but this is an every week dish!

Cranberry Vinaigrette on tossed Green Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
CORRECTION IN RECIPE: In the "DIRECTIONS" instructions under the #2 bullet point for making the vinaigrette, I neglected to include the addition of the 3 tablespoons of sugar (it is listed in the "Ingredients" list). This is key - otherwise it will be very tart. When making for diabetics, I've substituted 2 tablespoons of Blue Agave syrup (which has a very low glycemic index); I have also used the stevia based substitute sweeteners like Purevia or Truvia.

Made the recipe as instructed but increased wocestershire sauce to 1 TABLEspoon and omitted the celery. Was super good! Next time I think I'll leave out the onion and add dry onion soup mix instead.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This is THE stroganoff recipe!! I added the cream cheese with the other ingredients to start and it didn't make any difference. I also added beefy onion dry soup mix and a boullion cube and a dollop of sour cream at the end with the noodles. This was the best stroganoff I've ever had and amazing comfort food!

Super good! I had 4 bananas which made 2 cups so I added a baby food container of pureed peach and an equal amount of cinnamon applesauce. I also added a capful of vanilla and 2 gentle shakes of pumpkin pie spice.

FANTASTIC. I was scared to put 18 basil leaves into this soup but the basil makes it. The more basil the better. Absolutely fabulous. Added a bit of sugar to contrast the tangyness of the tomatoes.
