Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
One of the best I have ever eaten. Pumpkin pie is something I love if it's good and hate if it's not so good. I doubled the spices and it still wasn't quite right. It also puffed up in the middle when it was cooking and fell after I took it out of the oven. It wasn't very pretty. This was my first attempt at this particular recipe and I will be making it again and again. With some very, very slight tweaking, it will be MORE than 5 stars.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
I make this A LOT! It is so easy and very, very good. I use this recipe anytime I need breaded chicken, like in parmesian chicken. I also make it for a quick dinner. The crust is crispy and the chicken is always juicy! This is one of the best!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
These were the best oatmeal raisin cookies I have ever had! I followed the recipe and cooked them for 10 minutes. They came out perfect! A little crispy on the edges and soft and chewy in the middle. You can't go wrong with this recipe.

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Darn delicious. I ALWAYS think breads taste better the next day. This one smelled wonderful while it was cooking; I couldn't wait for a sample. If it tastes better tomorrow I don't think I'll be able to stand it! It is moist and so flavorful. I did not add the walnuts. It is a little sweeter than most pumpkin bread recipes I've tried. I like it but others may want to make some adjustments with the sugar. I have to have another piece. DELICIOUS!

Beef Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This is most definitely a 4 and a half star recipe. I made a few changes, only for personal preference. I'm sure it's fantastic as written. I used a little flour on the beef, I added garlic and Worcestershire sauce, and I added a little more liquid. I thought it was so good I could have made myself sick eating too much!

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Very good and easy to make with ingredients I always have on hand. I think the recipe could use a little more peanut butter; the pb taste wasn't as strong as I thought it would be. I added mini kisses. I won't do that again. I think the addition of chocolate is a great idea (not needed, however) but I would use semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate icing. I will definitely make this again.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
This was definately not holiday quality! I followed the directions exactly and I just wasn't impressed. It was very easy and it should get 10 stars for that but the flavor wasn't anything to write home about. I would use this for an easy meal for my family, I just wouldn't serve it for a holiday dinner.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
What a fantastic dish! I was amazed by how much flavor it had with so few ingredients. I like my spinach cooked so I added it to the bacon tomato mixture and left it for a few minutes. I also added parmesian cheese to the finished dish. I highly recommend this recipe!!!

Tastes good but way too much sugar for me. I used the Splenda sweetened fruit cocktail but it was still too much for me.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
These came out wonderfully. I used my stand mixer with slicer attachment to cut the potatos. I did use a little velveeta with the cheddar to make it extra creamy. I don't think I will ever make the box kind again.

Honey-Mustard Beef Kabobs

This was a very good honey mustard sauce. My kabobs didn't turn out at all! My beef was so tough I couldn't eat my efforts! I will try this again because the honey mustard flavor was great.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
These were better than any mix or brownie recipe I have ever tried. They were a little sweet and a little chewy but that was probably my cooking technique. I scaled the recipe to 6 servings and I made them into brownie bites using a small muffin pan. I cooked them for about 14 minutes and it made 16 bites. I think next time I will do the same and cook them for about 12 minutes.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

I don't have too much to say about this recipe except, I just didn't like it. I was so disappointed after all the great reviews. I ate what was on my plate but I would not make it again. My bf, who loves everything I cook, didn't care for it either.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I am giving this recipe 4 stars because I changed the recipe. I think 3 stars is a more accurate rating for what I got. I used Ghiradelli Bittersweet Chocolate and I did not like the results. The cookies are not sweet enough for me and the bittersweet chocolate made them even less sweet. The texture is great and the peanut butter flavor is subtle but good. If I ever make these again, I will use the semisweet chocolate.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
YUM! These were great and so easy to make. I had a very delicious dinner with all the trimmings in less than an hour. I'm not a big condensed soup fan, so I could taste the soup flavor, but it wasn't THAT bad. Also, my bf said "where's the mushrooms?" Next time I will add mushrooms. Easy and tastes great, you can't go wrong there!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
I did not care for this recipe. I am concerned my dislike had something to do with my choice of ribs. I tried the same type ribs on another recipe and they were much better. So that being said, these were tough and the rum flavor was not good. It was a ton of work for what I got in the end. I will not be making these again.
