Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
Not like my grandma used to make! It was too sweet and the lemon flavor was faint. The filling tasted "eggy" to me.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

I thought this was absolutely delicious! I made the recipe as listed, not changing a thing. I can't think of anything I would change. It was great!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
This was a lot of work for the return I got. The end result was good and sometimes I like making things just because I can. I would use this recipe if I was going to make my own crust again, I just think a mix from the store is just as good.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I made NO changes to the listed recipe so I feel like my rating is true to how my cookies turned out. These were NOT GOOD at all! I am always looking for a peanut butter cookies recipe. This is definately not it for me. The cookies had no flavor. If I had not made them, I wouldn't have known what they were. I wish I hadn't wasted my peanut butter cups!

London Broil I

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
This is a fantastic marinade. I couldn't get over how flavorful the meat turned out. I let the meat marinade for about 8 hours. I used 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce. I also used EVOO instead of vegetable oil. I grilled for about 10 minutes on both sides. If it hadn't been burned on the outside it would have been perfect!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
Due to time, I had to make these on the stove. It was still simple and turned out great! I did a quick soak on the beans and cooked them with all of the recipe ingredients for about 2 hours. I thought there was too much onion so I removed some of it before I mashed the beans. These weren't exactly like the beans I eat at our local Mexican restaurants but they were very good and so much better than canned.

This is a quick and delicious dinner. Other than using canned biscuits, I follow the recipe exactly. It is flavorful and wonderful on a cold rainy night!

Classic Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I cut the recipe in half and used a 16oz bag of the prepared coleslaw mix. I have never liked coleslaw before I tried this. The different flavors are amazing! My bf said this is a recipe for people who don't like coleslaw. You can't help but like it! Like I said I cut the recipe in half, but I cut the sugar in half again. I thought it was still slightly too sweet.

Three-Meat Stromboli

It was ok. Seemed like there was too much crust and I didn't like the mustard flavor.

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Super easy! I recommend not using Italian seasoned bread crumbs. I didn't like the flavor that turned out from doing that. My rating is based on how quick and easy this was to prepare. If it was on taste alone, I probably would have given this one 3 stars. The meatballs reminded me of the ready made meatballs you can buy in a bag at the store.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I have fried chicken less than 10 times in my life. I am not very good at it. I thought this was my best attempt ever. I think it would have been almost perfect if I had followed the directions and pounded the meat thin. Anyway, I soaked the breasts in buttermilk and minced garlic for several hours. I don't know if it did anything but I thought it was a good idea. I pretty much followed the recipe. The breading was good and had a nice garlic flavor. I think I would have enjoyed the dish more if I had made gravy.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

This was a different way to prepare a roast. I enjoyed it. It was very flavorful and easy. You can definately feel the heat from the cayenne.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
This is a very tasty and easy sauce to make. I think it may be a little sweet for some people but I like it that way. It definately doesn't taste like any sauce from a pizza delivery restaurant. I have made this several times and I only wish I could find a good crust to put it on. I think I would enjoy it so much more!
