Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
EASY EASY EASY!! I'm 38 weeks pregnant, and I whipped this one up quick! That's an easy recipe!! I used cottage cheese, b/c ricotta is TOO expensive in HI, and I left out the breadcrumbs, b/c it seemed weird. I used a zip-loc bag to pipe in the mixture, and only cooked the noodles 4 minutes. My husband inhaled this manicotti. I also put in some hamburger to the sauce, as well as chunky veggies b/c that's the way he likes it. WAY TO GO!! AWESOME RECIPE!

Didn't care too much for this recipe. I think I just don't like the taste of the peppers. The meat shredded easly, but it wasn't for us. Hubby didn't like it either.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
WOW!! I was worried when I was mixing the cola mixture, b/c my I had a $10 roast(Hawaii has expensive meat) but my end result was WONDERFUL. I put it in the crockpot, and added the whole packet of gravy(mushroom gravy) and some potatoes. The meat just fell apart, so tender and jucy. My husband said he couldn't tell there was cola in the meat, but the veggies he could. He said to make again!!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
OUTSTANDING!! Like others, I made a few changes, like 2 cans of chicken broth, and fresh broccoli. Also, I used the whole 2 lbs. of processed cheese. It does make a lot, so be prepared for leftovers!!

Skillet Chops with Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is the BEST pork chop recipe I've ever made. I used crushed pork stove top stuffing for breading, but did everything else the same. The only bad thing about this was I only had 4 chops, and I could have eaten them all!!! My husband said "You WILL make this again!"

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
Great throw-together meal. I used a whole bag of frozen ravioli, and added chopped mushrooms and garlic to my browning meat. I also added one and a half cans spaghetti sauce. Served with a salad, corn, and garlic bread, and you've got a wonderful meal!!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! This is the best fried fish recipe I've ever seen! For the white sauce, I used sour cream, mayo, lime, fresh dill, cilantro and cayanne pepper. Spicy and YUMMY! we had batter left over, and my husband used it to fry broccoli, carrots and onion rings! The sauce was good with the veggies too! Even the in-laws loved it. Next time, we're just gonna have a fish fry, and not fish tacos. Already put in the favorites box!!

Restaurant-Style Chicken Tenderloins

Reviewed: May 16, 2006
This was ok. I grilled them on the George Forman, and boiled the leftover marinade and poured over them. It made the chicken moister. Next time, I will marinade overnight and maybe cook in the oven. Tasty, but you can't beat Cracker Barrel's.

Creamy Dill Dip II

Reviewed: May 13, 2006
I really liked this dip, even though my husband said it was lacking something. I ended up putting WAY more dill and g. onions than called for. I also added garlic powder rather than minced. It satisified my pregnancy craving, so I'll make this again!!

Chicken Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
I loved this recipe, was something very different for my family. I used a rotisserie chicken to cut down on prep and used jared Alfredo sauce. In reading some of the reviews I think I would use some Parmesan or Mozarella Cheese in the stuffing next time and two jars of Alfredo to give it a lot of sauce.

I thought this ok, but my husband must have loved it b/c the next week he asked for me to make it again. It's an easy enough recipe, especially if you have left over chicken.

This recipe was ok. My husband said it was an expensive chicken noodle casserole, since canned chicken is SO expensive in Hawaii. I'll probably used chicken breast next time.

Can't get any better than this. To me, this is the ultimate comfort food. My husband's family (who are Hawaiian and usually eats rice)ate this up and told me to make more next time! A classic recipe that can't go wrong.

WOW! What a recipe! I doubled it and it made a huge pan, and by the end of the night, it was scraped clean! I did add some garlic powder to give it a little kick, but that was the only thing I changed. This has been added to the keeper pile!!!

Like previous reviewers, I used shredded beef instead of ground. It was easy enouogh to assemble, and I liked the crunchiness of the tortilla. We will make this again, of course tweaking it to fit our tastes.

Cheesy Sloppy Jose Taco Cups

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
This was such a fun recipe to make! It's a different twist to regular old sloppy joes. I did use my own ground beef and added the sloppy joe sauce and then some taco seasoning. Much cheaper that way. My husband wolfed down 3 before he came up for breath!! This will be a family favorite for us!

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
This recipe did not come out for me. Like other reviewers, the breading was soggy. I will try this recipe again, but next time I will use cracker crumbs instead of bread crumbs. I seem to have better luck with crackers; they tend to hold up better than bread crumbs, and be nice and crispy. I also didn't pound the chicken, just cooked it a little longer.
