Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
These were quite delicious. However, make SURE you don't overbake them... I did, and they were a little dry. I used a chocolate cupcake recipe and a chocolate buttercream frosting, and they came out great!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
I made one of these for Thanksgiving. It was soooo good! Everyone said it was the best they had ever had. I thought that was impressive being that most of them were experienced bakers. I have been asked to make this again to bring to our Christmas gathering.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This is amazing! I was looking for a potato soup like my great grandma's. This was just like except she used cream instead of milk. I did the same and it was amazing. I doubled the recipe and fed 4 small children and 4 adults. Every bit was gone! I would really recommend using cream instead of milk, it really gives it a nice rich flavor. Excellent recipe!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This was the first Carrot Cake I had ever made and I was striving to make it better than my mother in laws (who should have been a professional baker). This recipe had a lot of the same ingredients as her carrot cake and omg, did it turn out better than hers. The combination of everything is superb! I do not care much for raisins, but in this cake they were awesome! I don't think I'll try another carrot cake recipe again. The only change I made was I poured the batter into two round pans. I just like round cakes better. This one's a keeper!

This was a very good recipe. My husband couldn't believe I really made the gravy. He kept asking where the package was. This is a great winter supper.

Deep South Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
My first real success at frying chicken. (After many failed attempts!) I do not have a cast iron skillet, but by using crisco instead of oil, did not have a sticking problem. I added some paprika and a little more salt. I also did brine the chicken for about 45 minutes before cooking. (I did not have 2 hours to do it right.) It turned out perfect. My husband told me it was just like eating out, but better. My best friend happened to stop by and grabbed a piece. She said it was the best she had ever had. I made this with the traditional mashed potatoes from this site. The best part is, the ingredients were already on hand. This will be a staple recipe in my house from now on! Thanks for posting.

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

I have always used basically the same process to make mashed potatoes, but warming the milk does indeed make a difference! This is now how I make mashed potatoes! DH loved them! The only change I made was more salt and butter.

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Pretty good. I made this one night when I did not have a lot of time. It is super easy and pleased my husband's taste. I personally think it could of used some more interest in the flavor dept, but then again it was a pretty basic recipe! I'll definitely make it again though - good recipe!

I reduced this recipe like crazy but it was still so wonderful. The cream cheese icing could stand to be a tad sweeter, but that might just be my personal preference.

Frosted Maple Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
I only used the frosting recipe to frost donuts, but I had to add more maple flavoring because it tasted too much like confectioner's sugar when made how it is listed above. It is really up to your taste how much maple you use, but it turns out just like the frosting on maple bars at the donut shop. Good consistency!

Baked Doughnuts

This turned out exactly like spice cake. I won't rate it badly because I still enjoyed the cake (I had made a maple icing from a maple cookie recipe here to make maple bars). But this was too much like dessert to be a breakfast item for my taste! Still delish.

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
These were so delicious. I didn't have bread crumbs, so I crushed seasoned Kashi whole wheat crackers instead. I also used only the egg yolk as many other reviewers did. I don't know if it made a difference, really. Also, I added SALT! I don't know if it was left out of the recipe on purpose, but I couldn't imagine making a hamburger without salt! Other than that, I followed the recipe to a tee. The end result was super-juicy and extremely tasty. I'll be making these again! Note: make sure that your garlic is chopped finely enough! I got a chunk of it in my burger - made it a little strong. PS. - they were not meatloaf-y at ALL! I despise meatloaf!

This is so good.I took it to a covered dish picnic and I only got a small bite thinking I would come back for another bite if I liked it. When I went back the bowl was scraped clean not even a crumb left.LOL Now I can't wait to fix for my family.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
This gets 5 stars from me based on its simplicity combined with great taste. I have an extremely picky crew. It's hard to please everyone, but this recipe does the job! I usually fix a very similar recipe in a slow cooker, but was low on time and not prepared. This was so easy and I had all the ingredients on hand. I did use chicken breasts because I keep them in my freezer. I used cream of chicken soup because my 15 year old daughter would be simply mortified at the thought of vegetables in her favorite dish. This will be a recipe that will be used over and over in this household, and I see it in my daughters' future as part of theirs! Thanks of posting!
