Insalata Caprese I

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
Very good salad. I only rated a 4 because I changed it up a bit by adding a clove of minced fresh garlic and making the dressing using 3 parts extra virgin olive oil to 1 part of the balsamic vinegar. 1/2 balsamic and 1/2 oil makes it very tart and overpowering. Make sure the balsamic is the best you can buy, the older the better, the more syrupy it is, the better. Trader Joe's sells a very nice aged balsamic for less than $10 a bottle.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
I'm giving these 4 stars because the taste is great, but a little more work than I like to do all the time for a cookie! I did use white chips in the chocolate side of the cookie and increased the oven temp to 350 and they turned out much better! I will make these again, just not an everyday cookie for me! Thanks for the great recipe though!

Indonesian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
OMGosh!! Made this last night on the grill and it was AWESOME! I seared both sides of a 2-lb loin roast over direct medium heat, then finished it over indirect heat for about 30 min. DH & daughter loved it and tonight I'm using the little that's left over for pork fried rice. I'll definitely be making this one often. Thanks!

Almond Bars

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
Very simple recipe to follow with a great end result. These are a huge hit with the hubby. They have a great almond flavor with a dense cake-ish texture. I'm looking forward to trying this recipe with other extracts, such as Raspberry or Lemon.

No-Fuss Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
This is a fun and simple spin on a classic potato salad. It has a unique zip from the scalloped potato mix sauce. It's definately very saucy, but I don't care for hard boiled eggs, so that could have been my reason for extra sauce. Will definately make it again!

Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
This is the best recipe I've found for manicotti so far. It was a hit with my family. However, something in the ingredients made it slightly bitter tasting. I do recommend using marinara sauce instead of spaghetti. Also, try using a sandwich bag with a corner cut to insert the cheese mixture into the shells as somebody had suggested before. Overall, it's a terrific recipe.

Butterscotch Drops

These are amazingly sweet. I think I'll add a few more cornflakes next time. These will be a fun new addition to our holiday trays this year.

Kellogg's® Chocolate Scotcheroos

Very fun, kicked up version of a rice crispie treat. I don't think they were to sweet as many others have said. Peanut butter taste was very mild and not overpowering. Will definately make these again!!!

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
Good, but would have been too salty if I had added salt. Next time, I'll use only half the onion soup mix and add some dried onion. I used 1 cup water and 1 cup milk. Next time, I'll use 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup cream. This is a keeper!

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
Very tasty. I don't know what I did differently from everyone else, but I baked mine for 35 min, and they still seem a bit raw in the middle. The edges were just barely done. Not to say they still aren't delicious and disappearing quickly. We made them into a brownie sundae with ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Super Delish!!!

AWESOME! The only thing I changed was to use 2 tsp dried minced onion flakes (I love onion!). Everything else I followed to the letter. Thanks Tanaquil!

Awesome Egg Salad with a Kick

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
AWESOME! I used 8 eggs (all I had), so I scaled to 1/4 cup + 1 TBS Mayo and 1/4 cup + 1 TBS Sour Cream. I used 2 tsp dry mustard powder because I didn't have any Dijon (I'll use Dijon next time). I used yellow onion, because that's what I had. I omitted the bacon (personal preference). Added 1 tsp dried dill weed. I too, thought that 1 teaspoon (rather than 1 TBS) prepared horseradish was sufficient for my taste, but hey, I am a coward.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
I loved with this! I did make a few changes, I used 2 eggs and 3/4c. milk. I did have a problem with the crumb topping, but that is been with any recipe that I have to do one of those so not this recipes fault. I will definately make this again! Thanks!

Easy Italian Chicken II

This is so easy and tasty. I like this recipe very much and find, with a little crusty bread and a tossed salad, it's a perfect light meal when you don't want to spend a lot of time over hot stove.

Pink Lemonade Pie

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
REFRESHING! This is a great cookout dessert or pool side dessert. I would reccomend chilling it in the freezer. I didn't have any problem with it setting up in the fridge, but I put one in the freezer and we liked the texture of the frozen one much better!
