Indonesia Sate (Meat Kabobs)

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Outstanding recipe! My husband is from The Netherlands and he is also Indonesian. During our last family reunion the family made us a wonderful Indonesian meal and the Sate was my favorite, his too. I really like the kecap manis and the sambal oelek. These are common ingredients in Dutch supermarkets as Indonesians are historically a part of the Dutch community. I recommend this recipe as it is very authentic. I also recommend preparing a peanut sauce to go with it as I have never had it without, whether in a restaurant or at my in-law's home. The peanut sauce should be specifically an Indonesian sauce as it is a wonderful flavor of sweet and spicy. It is much different than Thai Sate and peanut sauce, it's thicker for one. Just my opinion but after having the Indonesian version at my family's home I haven't ordered the Thai version since. My husband is very lucky to have grown up eating this type of food!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

LOVED IT! The whole family loved it! I did dredge the chicken in flour before frying it, and I decreased the hot sauce by a tablespoon. IT WAS SO GREAT!

I'm not rating this because I have not tried it yet, but some of the reviews were awful. Peoples tastes are different, you either like it or you don't. No sense telling others not to try a recipe because they may love it. Tom J

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
My mom who is from Germany has made this salad all my life. She slices the cucumber very thin then puts them in a colander with salt to drain for a while this draws some of the bitter taste away. The only other thing she does different is adding just a little sugar to the mixture.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

I used to cook supper for my wife during the week when she came home from work to make sure her ailing father had something to eat. I consider myself to be a beginner at cooking. As long as you follow the recipe,(and I love All Recipes), one should be able to survive. I fixed this recipe to a tee and my wife and I loved it. Needless to say it was very tender and I will be making this again. Thanks, LIKESTOCOOK,...Tom J

Beef Heart Braised in Wine

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
If fixed right, this is delicious. Has the texture and taste similar to roast beef, just not stringy. I rate this 5 Stars becaause it's not expensive if you can find it at local grocer. I don't know if I can say this or not, but I can get it whole or sliced at Food Lion. I prefer whole. Thanks, Hunting for Recipes

I do not like any squash, baked, cooked, steamed. Fried is pretty good. This is the best squash I have ever eaten and on this site there is a Baked Squash II that I can not wait to try. If it is anything like the first, I'll be eating at least one of these at least once a week. THANK YOU!!!

Linda's Lasagna

Amazing, my name is Linda and this recipe is almost like the one I have used for 30 years. Why then did I give it a low rating? I never, never, put water in my sauce because it tends to make the recipe runny. I also add pepperoni to my sauce.
