Pink Lemonade Pie

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
REFRESHING! This is a great cookout dessert or pool side dessert. I would reccomend chilling it in the freezer. I didn't have any problem with it setting up in the fridge, but I put one in the freezer and we liked the texture of the frozen one much better!

Strawberry Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
It was great! I was afraid that it would have an artificial taste like regular strawberry cake mix, but it didn't at all! Nice fresh strawberry taste!

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
I only gave this one 4 stars because I had to add some herbs and spices to keep it from being bland... added oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, black pepper, seasoned and garlic salt to taste. Very tasty!

Pineapple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
This was GREAT! My husband doesn't normally like pineapple, but he LOVED this bread. He said it was the perfect mixture of banana and pineapple.. he ate 3 pieces, one after the other! This was my first bread attempt, and it turned out beautifully.. the crust was crisp and sweet.. thanks for a great recipe!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
So easy, quick, and tasty! My husband just went back for thirds! I did a couple things differently after reading the reviews... 1. I browned the beef with the onion, 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, and 1 tsp minced garlic. 2. While it was browning, I lightly sprinkled it with onion powder, ceyenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and pepper. 3. Once the meat was finished, I added the can of condensed mushroom soup, 1 cup of cheese, and 1/2 cup milk right into the skillet and mixed together. 4. Put a can of green beans in the bottom of the dish and spooned the meat mixture onto the top. 5. I put the tater tots on top of the mixture and sprinkled the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top. 6. I sprinkled the top lightly with seasoned salt before serving. YUMMMM!!!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
YUMMM!!!! I didn't add walnuts because my husband doesn't like them.. they were still delicious! I mixed about half a cup of chocolate chips in the batter and then put a cup on top. I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9x13 dish for about 28 minutes! Do yourself a favor and make these!

Easy Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
This was good.. but changes were needed to suit my tastes, otherwise I was afraid it would be too bland. I cooked the chicken with garlic, 1/3 cup onion, 1/3 cup muchrooms.. when it was finished I cut it up and mixed it in with the cream of chicken soup and the sour cream. I put the mixture in an 8x8 dish and placed the crushed crackers (mixed with a stick of butter) on top. Good starter recipe.

Old-Fashioned Roasted Pecans

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
ADDICTING!!!! These are SO good... I used 1/4 cup white sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar. I ended up using 2 egg whites and 2 tbs water. Try these as a salad topper in place of crutons.. you won't regret it!!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Chicken and Asparagus Fettuccine

It was good, I think next time I will leave out the Asparagus...in my opinion it took away from the flavor of the sauce..

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
It was perfect with just a couple alterations, otherwise it would have been a 5 star for sure! I only used 2.5 cups of chicken broth (half of what the original recipe calls for).. I tend to like my chili a little soupier than chunky, and it was perfect with 2.5 cups, 5 would have been WAY too much!!!! Also, I only used 1/2 tbs of cinnamon. I was worred that the cinnamon would overpower the other spices.. Using 1/2 tbs gave it just the right taste without being able to identify cinnamon as the "secret ingredient". I will be making this again!!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
Not much lemon taste. The crust was enough to cover the bottom of the 9x13 dish, but next time I think I am going to double the topping and add more lemon to it. As is, it is more of a "sweet bar" not lemon bar. The consistency was great, but the crust could probably go for 15 min. at 350 rather than 20 at 375. It was burnt on the edges and was hard to get out of the pan.
