I liked it, my husband didn't. I added some seasonings other reviewers suggested, but they were still subtle.

Bermuda Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
My minor changes were using Bacobits instead of bacon (because it is faster), olive oil instead of veg. oil (because it tastes better) and no celery seed (didn't have it). I also added grape tomatoes. For 2 of us I didn't measure the salad ingredients, but I did measure for the dressing, with a bit less sugar the dressing was great! We really enjoyed it and will make it again.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This was absolutely fabulous...I pretty much followed the recipe except for doubling the sauce(we like lots!)--it was great there were no leftovers--for those who don't drink wine--the alcohol cooks off using just the flavor of the wine..you're really missing out if you don't use the wine..it's good w/o it but absolutely divine with the flavor of it!

Pot Stickers Traditional

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I was a little afraid to try these because I knew they were going to be labor intensive. They were, but on the other hand the recipe makes a lot. (I made some for dinner and froze the rest). I was delighted at how well they turned out and am looking forward to eating the ones I froze. I wasn't crazy about the dipping sauce and preferred some plum sauce. Overall, these are winners.

Frosted Cranberries

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These make a beautiful garnish for a holiday dessert, or even to be eaten plain. Using the recipe directions they don't take any time at all to make, although they do require drying time. I found I couldn't resist grabbing a few every time I'd pass the counter where they were drying. They are delicious, with the sweet/tart combination and the crunch of the sugar coating.

Ham and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
my family loved it but I thought it was ok. We don't keep swiss cheese in the house so that was a special buy that and white bread never passes our threshold unless extreme emergencies but this was tasty fast and easy. I'll keep it around for the next hot ham and cheese craving I have.

Neiman Marcus Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
GREAT recipe--I've made a couple of batches in the last couple of weeks and the emptiness of my containers speak volumes! I opted to add chocolate chips to the cake layer and I did only use one box of confectioners sugar. I cut this into squares after it cooled and served it at a couple of gatherings...thanks for the great recipe!

This was just okay for me, but other people seemed to like it. A third grader had thirds of it, so I am giving it four stars instead of three.

Pumpkin Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
The cake was very moist and turned out beautiful. I followed others' suggestions and reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup and used an entire 15 oz can of pumpkin. I don't really care for pumpkin, but my family enjoyed it for Thanksgiving. Not too sweet. I used a rum cream cheese glaze, which can be found as part of another pumpkin cake on this site.

Holiday Pumpkin Cake with Rum-Cream Cheese Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
This review is for the glaze only - The consistency of this glaze was incredible! It stayed exactly where I wanted it. I ended up adding no more than 1 extra tsp of milk, a few drops at a time. The flavor was also really good. My family really enjoyed it on a pumpkin cake (different recipe). I would definitely use this glaze for other cakes and vary it with vanilla or almond extracts.

Corn with a Kick

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I'm always looking for different ways to make corn, and this one is a winner. I added enough cayenne pepper to be able to know it was there, but not enough that it was really hot. It was part of our Thanksgiving meal and everyone seemed to like it. I'd definitely make it again.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

I took this, along with 2 other dishes to a gathering and this was the most talked about recipe amongst the adults there. Made it the day before. I did add sliced grapes and used crasins. A beautiful, delicious salad.

excellent! my student (8th grade) prepared this recipe and won 3rd place in a county competition! it's easy and very tasty. we served it with dill spears and garlic wedges as well as a doctored version of the southern coleslaw recipe. oh yeah, we also doctored the bbq sauce.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I marinated the chicken (drumsticks) in the liquid from 9 to 5. The onion soup mix packet is 2 ounces so be careful to only add half the packet. Even after adding a pinch of ginger the chicken still seemed bland to us.
