Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
I had some serious logistal issues with the falafel. We added about 2 cups of bread crumbs and the first batch that we fried completely fell apart in the pan. After added another cup of breadcrumbs to the remaining ones they were fine. I think maybe one onion is too much. This was tasty and good but I will have to modify it if I make it again.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

made this for a pot luck. Glad I followed the advice of another reviewer and doubled the amount of tortillas. I used splenda instead of sugar (I think about 1 T) and sugar-free preserves and it tasted great.

Baked Tofu Bites

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
i made this as written and it was pretty good. It tastes like a bbq sauce to me but maybe that was the liquid smoke. Some of the sauce did burn on my pan so I had to wash it right away. I think I might make this again but tweek it without the smoke and add some grated ginger for a more asian taste. Thanks!

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

made this for breakfast and it was pretty easy. I had frozen blueberries so that is what I used. The topping kind of melted everywhere so Im not sure I would use that again. It was good though :)

Cheesy Quinoa Pilaf with Spinach

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
this was very tasty. I did mess up because i thought the recipe said goat cheese but then I saw it said goat cheese gouda. Dont know if that would make a difference or not. This was very good and easy to make. I would double or tripple the recipes. The servings were kinda small :)

This was very good. I used a variety of apples and they werew not too sweet. I used about 1/2 cup of brown sugar. I added everything in when I began to cook it. Very easy and delish! :) Will make again!

Vegetarian Korma

Just made this for dinner tonight. My husband loves curry and he liked this a lot. He felt that there wasnt enough heat to the dish and that maybe it needs some red pepper flakes or the seeds from the jalapeno. Im not a big fan of bell peppers so I picked them out. I think celery might go good in this too. We served it with coconut rice. Very tasty vegitarian dish :)

Banana Cranberry Bread

This was very good! I did not use 2 1/2 cups of sugar because it just seemed like too much. I only used one cup and it seemed sweet to me. I totally forgot the nuts too until my husband said "This would be 5 stars if it had nuts in it!" Go figure! I will make this again :)

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This was very good! The spice rub is good but I did not have enough time to let the birds soak in it overnight. Just 6 hours and we dont eat the skin anyway. This was delish! It was my first time making a whole chicken and it took about 3-3 1/2 hours. It wasnt sticky though...maybe my chickens kept all their juices inside! I will definately make this again :) :) :) Great recipe!!!

Best Formula Three-Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This was a lot better than the traditional Gruyere and Emmentaler fondue. One tip I can say that I got from a fondue cookbook is to take the flour and sprinkle it over your shredded cheese. It sticks to the cheese and then you can add it to the wine. I did make mine in my fondue pot, not on the stove. I also added 1 chopped shallot to the wine. Very delicious! Great with steamed broccoli and apples :)

i agree that the cooking temp and time is too low. Try 350 for an hour. I also prefer to peel my garlic ahead of time since i always burn my fingers trying to squeeze it out of the head :)

easy and tasty! I used a shiner black as the beer. I think a dark beer probably will give the best flavor. Went well with our soup tonight. I would definitely make this again :)

drop the vinegar amount to 1/4 cup and use champagne vinegar or white wine vinegar. Also did not use a microwave but a double boiler :)
