Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This is a family favorite that we have enjoyed for years. I sprinkle meat w garlic powder first then dredge with flour and brown on all sides in small amt. olive oil before putting in slow cooker. Add one medium sized onion to crock pot at the beginning of cook time. Do not add any extra salt as sodium content is very high. Delicious.

Sunday Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Light and airy. Like some others, I used butter instead of oil and reduced sugar to 1/4 cup. Good dinner roll but also great covered with a little jelly and served witha cup of coffee in the morning.

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
Delicious and so easy to prepare. Also a lot of bang for the buck as it's fairly inexpensive. I also put rosemary and lemon jc. directly under the skin in addition to stuffing the cavity. Just took my Thanksgiving turkey out of the oven and sorry that I did not prepare it by using this recipe.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This soup is fantastic. I did cut down on the sodium by using chicken breast and low sodium chicken broth. Also I added about a half of a package of low sodium taco seasoning. I served it with cheese, crushed tortilla chips and sour cream. My family and neighbors loved this.

Graham Cracker Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
Very Sweet- I used this crust for a key lime pie and it countered the tartness nicely, but for a sweet pie, I'd recommend less sugar. Measurement wise- one sleeve of graham crackers is perfect.

Glorious Sponge Cake

I love this! Nice, lighter cake that I have made several times. I skip the lemon extract and such, and just use vanilla and it's always fantastic! Last time, I frosted it with buttercream frosting from this site (Rick's Buttercream Frosting). YUM!

Mexican Wedding Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
ok, I made a few changes to suit a craving I've had lately for lemony powdered cookies, this is what I did: followed recipe replacing vanilla extract with lemon extract and also omitted completely the nuts (added a little extra flour instead to attain more 'firmness' to the dough). Small bite sized pieces on the cookie sheet and baked 17 min. Fantastic!! Will definitely make again and again! :)

Herb Roasted Pork

I made this for dinner tonight and it got big raves. I followed the recipe and the only thing I did different was to take the drippings from the pan and make a little gravy to drip the meat in. It was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing this terrific recipe.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

This recipe is TERRIFIC!!!!! I doubled the recipe and the only thing I did different was to brown 1 extra pound of ground meat because I like to have meat in my sauce. My husband and kids raved on dinner and my husband is even taking leftovers in his lunch. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I made this last night for dinner. My husband and children raved on good this was. If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would. It was so moist and seasoned perfect. My husband never takes a lunch to work but as soon as he was done with dinner, he was up and making a dish to take with him to work today and he didn't forget it. He raves on my cooking all the time and I often joke with him that he married me because of my cooking. He requested to have this once a week. Thank you, this is a winner

London Broil II

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
this was fantastic! i used all the ingredients plus added about 3 or 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and instead of grilling, i cooked in crock pot all day. adding about 3c. beef stock and 1c. water (to cover my 2 lb roast) it fell apart that night for dinner, just as tender and tasty as ever! FANTASTIC!

Amish Friendship Bread Starter

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
your yeast may have lost its effect if your water temp in the very beginning was over 110 degrees. the hotter the water, the less effective the yeast will be. you don't necessarily have to throw it away, it just won't rise as much. what other types of breads can this starter be used for? any suggestions?
