Modified by the Filipinos from Central to South American influences, this fragrant soup is made with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and lots of garlic. Serve as a stew or generously over rice.

Sunflower-Soy Butter

Soy nuts and sunflower seeds are ground together to make this peanut-free butter which is sweetened with cranberries for a great spread on cut celery, whole grain breads, and fruit. It also pairs well with soft cheese (don't add more salt though). Feel free to try other dried fruits as well, such as blueberries, cherries, or apples.

This one-pot soup doesn't take a lot of time, but it sure tastes like it does. Italian sausage, chopped spinach, and orzo pasta combine with green pepper, onions, and garlic, in a chicken broth and tomato soup.

My entire family loves this recipe. A quick baked polenta topped with red sauce. Very easy to make and great the next day too (and the day after that!) Top with additional Parmesan cheese if you like.

Corned beef, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and tons of garlic make this Filipino family recipe an excellent quick and easy dish to serve over rice.
