Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This is my favorite ice cream to make at home. I used 3/4 cup sugar and skim milk instead of heavy cream, but it was still plenty rich and delicious! I would recommend this recipe to anyone.

Blueberry Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
So good! This is my mom's go-to recipe for blueberry muffins. It's hard to tell they contain oatmeal and orange juice in the finished product. My favorite part is the crunchy cinnamon sugar on top :)

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I ended up making a different tzatziki sauce, but the souvlaki marinade is delicious! I don't have a grill so I had to sear the chicken on the stove, and the marinade made this delicious crust. So so good!

Fabulous Cilantro Pesto

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
A nice change for pesto. I wasn't sure about the combination of cilantro and parm. cheese and walnuts, but it actually works. I used whole wheat pasta, omitted the pepper, added a few tablespoons of lime juice and used less olive oil for a chunkier pesto. Just be careful not to use too much cilantro, or else it becomes bitter.

I make a similar dish, except I sprinkle a bit of cayenne pepper on top of the fish for an extra kick.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
The first time I made them I followed the recipe exactly and they were amazing. I tried them again with some modifications other users suggested without success (half butter, half apple sauce, adding cinnamon and vanilla extract, and used apricot preserves, although this last part I did like). I recommend keeping the recipe as shared

We weren't crazy about this dish. The taste was okay, but the consistency and look of it was a bit off putting. Sorry!

Delicious! I added about 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips to the batter and a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar to the glaze. My husband liked them plain, but I loved them with the glaze. YUM!

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
This was pretty good but I need to try it again with white bread. The wheat drowned out the taste of the mayo/parm mix (so much for the hard work!) The tomatoes were soooo juicy and delicious after the broiling. The balsamic marinade makes the perfect kick. I did sprinkle some salt on top and I had felt like it was lacking a little before, so I added some feta on top this last time, and I think that is they key. I am addicted now!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Hm I'll agree with other people about the oats - they really weirded me out, and I soaked them for a while as someone suggested! I thought it came out moist but the glaze was too sweet and there just wasn't enough flavor in the meatloaf. With some seasonings, this would probably be a great recipe. Maybe some Italian breadcrumbs. Looooved the idea of the mini meatloaves though! Served with mashed potatoes and corn.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This recipe was SOOOO good. I did use 1/2 sausage and 1/2 ground beef, a bay leaf when cooking the rice and a beef bouillion cube as well, as suggested by other reviews. I also had to add 1/4 cup more water, and simmer for an extra 6 minutes. My boyfriend and I cannot WAIT to eat this for lunch tomorrow, and make this again.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Very good! Although it does feel as if there is something missing to this pasta salad...something crunchy perhaps. Also, once all ingredients are tossed, I would suggest re-stirring after a few hours in the fridge, otherwise you'll end up with a kiddie pool of sauce at the bottom of your mixing bowl.

These are pretty tasty but the recipe calls for way too much sugar and vanilla. Five tbsp sugar and 1.5 tsp vanilla was plenty for me. Great recipe.
