Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This was a great base recipe! I followed the recipe almost exact... I did not use the pepper, and I also added bacon, sausage, and ham. I don't work well with dough, but it turned out ok. I think maybe next time, I will add the cheese when it's 5 minutes from being done. When added so early, it makes a hard top crust and doesn't really taste like cheese anymore. I think if that part of it works out better next time, it would be a 5 star! Thanks for sharing!

Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Perfect side dish for any get together. I typically do NOT drain the can corn. I think it makes for a more moist dish. I have also cut the butter and substituted apple sauce for as much as 2/3 of the amount of butter. You could probably cut the butter altogether if your really worried about calories.

Grandma Strait's Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
This should definitely be modified to specifically say POWDERED sugar, not regular. Mix was way to thick in the beginning and was extremely difficult to get to temperature was very grainy now adding milk in a hope to salvage. I am going back to my grandmothers way from now on, no more fake shortcut recipes.

Rich 'N Thick Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
This recipe is excellent on its own! I didn't have any vanilla so I left that out. My husband loves peanut butter so I added a tablespoon of that. It turned out amazing! I also used semi-sweet chocolate instead of unsweet.

My future mother-in-law raved about this. I will next time make the sweet potato part less sweet. The topping is a sugar rush all by itself.

French Fried Potatoes

These were delicious. My whole family loved them. Quick and simple and a great side for lots of dishes. We added salt, pepper, chili and garlic powder to them for flavor (I add that to all the fries we cook). Will definitely make again!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I tried this recipe last night, I have to admit, I didn't have high expectations, but I was amazingly surprized at how good it actually was. This will be one I will try again and again. Next time I will line the pan with foil, as the sauce burnt on the bottom of the pan and took a lot of elbow grease to remove!

Oops I bought broccoli not spinach dip

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Very good. 4 stars because not quite as good as my spinach in my opinion, though my 15 year old son says it is better. Also, it is not the most photogenic recipe ever.
