This was my first time making lasagna from scratch. What a hit! This is one of the best recipes I've ever had. A definite keeper!

Chocolate Mocha Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
It was alright, not as exciting as i had hoped. It could have been because i used applesauce instead of the oil. But still, i found it a little lacking. There are better recipes.

Slow Cooker Lentils and Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
we loved this recipe!! I browned the sausage in a frying pan w/ a half an onion (chopped)before adding it to the rest of the ingrediants. I also added 1 beef bouillon cube and a 1/2 teaspoon of a garlic herb seasoning mix that came w/ my bag of lentils. Turned out excellent, even the kids (4 & 3) loved it! I am making it again tonight (I made it for the first time about a week and a half ago) and the whole house smells delicious right now!

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
I didn't realize how easy falafels were to make. My husband and I really liked this recipe. I didn't even bother to get the food processor out. Just chopped the ingredients in small pieces and mixed with the beans. I grated the peeled, seeded cucumber and squeezed some of the water out. I drained the plain yogurt for about an hour and I think the sauce was a little thick. Next time I will use as is.

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
This was good...but not "oh so good". I'm like other reviewers and think this is more of a filling to use with tortillas. And my husband said this would be a perfect dish to take to a potluck where this wouldn't be considered a main meal.

Cornmeal-Coated Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
This has a very good, flavorful taste and is extremely easy to fix. I “crinkled” up some aluminum foil and lined a glass baking dish, then sprayed canola oil onto the aluminum foil. I baked for 50 minutes at 375F (45 would have been better) and served with rice and “Best Black Beans” from this site. I will definitely use this recipe again for “stand alone chicken” and I will normally use this recipe for salads, etc. Thank you.

Best Black Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
I mixed all ingredients together after draining and rinsing the black beans. I added a little water to replace the fluid discarded from the beans and brought the mixture to a boil. Then I simmered on low for about 20 minutes to let the flavors blend together. This is a very enjoyable, very flavorful side dish.

Just okay. The onions were a bit overwhelming. I added some romano cheese to give it at least a little taste. Good hot or cold!

A smashing hit at the super bowl party. I paired it with the tomato spinach spread from this site. They paired well together (although i did doctor the dip a bit, it was on the bland side, a little ramano cheese gave it flavor). People couldn't believe it was homemade!
