Out of this World Pie

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
This recipe was quick and easy. I thought the raspberry Jello over powered the other fruit flavors. Next time I my use half plain gelatin and half raspberry. Either way it is delicious and it make 2 pies so you have one to enjoy and one to give away. Thank you, I will be making this again!

Reuben Sandwich II

I used Arnold’s Jewish Rye (very good), Ken’s Thousand Island, real butter, Boar’s Head Corned Beef, Swiss cheese slices and Bavarian Sauerkraut. I put the sauerkraut in a small bowl and heated it the microwave for 30 seconds, then grilled for about 6 minutes per side on my pancake griddle until golden brown. Very tasty.

Sweet Potato Pie II

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
Really great. Not your traditional custard pie, light and airy. (if you leave it in the fridge overnight is more dense) Huge hit a my party. Piled high with real whipped cream. Didn't change a thing. I might bake potatoes next time. Have used twice and now will be my standard Sweet potato Pie. Good Job

Not bad, lacking spice but not bad! I added a bunch of allspice and a dash of nutmeg and i think the smell of it baking was better than anything else. I would use this again, over and over!

Chocolate Bar Pie II

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I made this for Easter and it was a big hit with our guests. The filling reminded me of a tasty chocolate mousse. I thought it was easy to put together also. I used a purchased graham cracker crust because I was making several other desserts but next time I will make a homemade crust. It's really so much better.

Made 1/2 recipe in an 8 X 8 baking dish. I followed the recipe exactly except I did add a little garlic to the onions and meat. Very simple recipe (5*), very pleasant cooking bouquet (5*) and a very tasty flavor (4-1/2*). Thank you B. Smith.

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This was a great dish. My entire family loved it. Definitely a keeper. The only two things I did differently is that I used Idaho potatoes since I did not have Yukon gold and I added a teaspoon of garlic powder to the parmesan mixture. Very yummy!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
This cake was very easy, and was fabulous! I made it for my son's 14th birthday and it was a huge hit. He wanted some type of frosting, so I used 1 can of sweetened condensed chocolate, heated it and added one cup of semi-sweet chocolate and glazed the cake. Yummy!!

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

One of the best recipes for country or chicken fried steak I have tried. I added about a 1/4 cup of beef broth to the gravy for more flavor, as well as about a teaspoon of garlic powder. Excelllent!

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
Excellent flavor. This is the first Lamb I have cooked and it turned out wonderful. I followed one-half the recipe exactly using a 2.5 pound roast. I cooked for 95 minutes at 350F, let rest for 25 minutes and got a medium roast which was very tender and flavorful.

YUMMY! I made this when I realized I was out of ketchup and couldn't make meatloaf. This is so good! The recipe is perfect as is - just double the gravy if you like to put it over your potatoes as well.

On the indian reservation they make thesefor Pow Wows topped wih Chili, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. They make the size of a 7-8 inch paper plate. I know they put cream of tarter in them as well. I tried it this time with the recipe as stated, next time I'm gonna put equal parts cream of tarter and some sugar to sweeten them up.
