Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Followed the instructions to a tee and it tastes wonderful! The white and milk chocolate still seem to separate when cutting but I don't mind. When I make again I'll try using a warm knife to cut into the bark. I'll be using this recipe for holiday gifts to my work clients. Thank you!

Jay's Hearty Breakfast Skillet

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This is fabulous! Since it is a "skillet" and not a "scramble" I opted to follow the recipe as stated and I made fried eggs, over medium for me and over medium well for hubby. It was gorgeous plated and oh so yummy! 5 stars! Thanks for sharing!

MEATLOAF THAT CAN STAND ON IT'S OWN TASTE...no gravy needed or required.

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I have never had better. This meatloaf is tender and tasty, and you can forgo the gravy. It needs nothing to enhance the flavor. This IS the way meatloaf should taste!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
This was good and SO easy! I used Big AL's BBQ sauce from the site (my go to sauce) and it was a great addition. Being from NC and with an abundance of great BBQ I couldn't give it the best, but it was good and definitely worth a crock pot day! Thanks for the rootbeer inspiration.

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
This is THE cheesecake recipe! I used a 9 inch springform pan for this. I let the cream cheese and eggs get to room temperature first. I made the sortbread with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla added in for flavor. I only cooked it for 10 minutes though as that is plenty long. Next time I may only cook it for 8 minutes as after everything it was a bit dry around the edges. When I made the filling I did add a touch of vanilla to it as well which I think added to the flavor wonderfully. I cooked as directed in the recipe. The only thing I did different there was I let it sit for 2 hours instead of 1 because it still seemed to have too much movement in the center. After the two hours I put directly in the fridge and chilled for 24 hours. My cheesecake looked perfect with no cracks or anything. The cheescake was the best tasting cheesecake I have ever tasted and I think better then the Cheesecake Factory! It can be used as a base for other types of cheesecakes too. I plan on doing othe types in the future. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
These were delicious and are gluten free! (Big Bonus!) I followed the "most helpful" review to use 1/3 brown, 1/3 white, 1/3 powdered... Perfection! The only thing I would add is to blend the sugar and peanut butter, then add the egg, and let stand about 5 mins. Blend again and roll! Perfect!!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
My daughter gave me a version of this recipe several years ago and it's absolutely delicious. She puts 1 cup of shredded Swiss cheese in with the other ingredients and after baking, puts 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese on top and it melts from the heat of the cooked cornbread. She doesn't use creamed corn either, just a 8 oz. package of frozen whole kernel corn. I never liked cornbread before I tasted this . . . it's not coarse and it's a sweeter version. Yummy.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
I always make a recipe to the tee the first time I make it. This I thought was too hard of a cheesecake. Next time I make it I will leave the flour out to make it more smooth. Other then that it had good flavor. I think this is a good staple recipe for cheesecake.

Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pao de Queijo)

My hubby, who is gluten free, was so excited when I made these for him. He really loved them, even reheated. I used the garlic, because we love it, and I also used Italian Blend cheese (because it is what I had). Again, he loved them and they were for him.... 5 stars! Thanks for sharing!!

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

This was a great addition to our "game day" menu. I, after reading several reviews, decided to stick to original recipe, other than using fresh crab meat. I served this alongside homemade pita chips (also from the site) and it was just what I was looking for! 5 stars!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I made these to use up the remaining fresh pumpkin that I had on hand. I have made so many pumpkin(ish) things this fall so far. These were good, even though I didn't use the the "drizzle". I did add some white chocolate chips and Reeses baking pieces. I added them (just pressed them in) before baking. Yum! Next time, I want to try the drizzle, as it also sounds yummy. My way was great too!

This is soooo creamy and delicious. The only thing that I done differently was to use fresh pumpking and walnuts instead of pecans (only because that is what I had on hand). OMG! I will definitely be making this again this holiday season.

Chicken Enchilada Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
We really enjoyed this soup. Based on our own tastes I added 1 can of corn (drained), I can of Rotel (drained; instead of chopped tomato). I only used the red enchilada sauce and five corn tortillas. Black beans would be good too, but hubby is not a big bean fan so I didn't add them. I used Taco Seasoning I from the site for the season and used 2 tbsp. Perfect!
