Chicken And Apple Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This was my first time making curry and I was very impressed. Four stars only because I used this a base recipe. I read other's suggestions and doubled both the 'soup' and curry powder. I also used coconut milk instead of milk. I cooked it with chicken tenderloins- they were a little bland and I think next time i'll cube them. Also I threw in a dash of red pepper for spice. The apples added a great flavor- kind of tangy! I used Granny Smith. Next time I'm going to throw in cooked potatoes to replicate the curry I eat at my favorite Thai restaurant. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Cream of Chicken Breasts

This is such a great comfort food. For a creamier, yet more tangy, flavor, substitute the milk with sour cream!

I made the filling by itself and froze several bags of it. I use it to fill crepes and plain cream puffs. It's good to have this on store for emergencies!

I was searching for this reciped for years and was very suprised to learn that there was no coconut milk in it. I've made it countless times and everytime people drink it all up! I plan on adding coconut rum to it at our next barbeque.

Slow Cooker Lime Chicken with Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I was very excited about this recipe because I am a huge lime fan! But I, like many others, found the chicken to be very dry. The rice really soaks in the lime flavoring and it does seem a bit too strong, though I did double the amount of lime juice. As someone else suggested, maybe throw in a can of Rotel- that might help. I won't make this again.

Beer Batter Crepes I

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I've been looking for a good crepe recipe ever since high school when my french teacher refused to share her 'secret recipe' with us. Now I know why she couldn't share it with us!!! My husband, who almost never comments on food- especially desserts, wouldn't stop raving about them and ate about half of the batch in one sitting. *I made bavarian cream to fill these with, using the creme puff cake recipe... very good!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Very good recipe! I changed it a little bit using less butter, and adding a few of my own spices. I also used boneless skinless breast halves instead of a whole chicken. Turned out awesome. We used the extra sauce for dipping!

Marvelous... however, processed foods make me nervous... so, I used 75% cheddar and 25% mozzarella. Marvelous! Even my broccoli hating husband and 3 year old gobbled it up. Try it; you will love it with all natural ingredients!

Turkey Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Fabulous! I complimented the recipe with oregano, garlic and other italian spices to taste... used all tomato sauce and no paste and an absolute must to add mozzarella in the mix; not much but a touch will help the rolls say together after baking. I also blanched the cabbage to help leaves separate. Any mix of ground meats will work. A new favorite for the 3,7,10 and 45 yr old kids in my house! Superb!!

Ratatouille

What a great recipe! I shared it with my neighbor and she loved it as well! I tweaked it a little by dicing the onion and adding it in with the garlic. I also minced some fresh herbs from my garden for added flavor. I used thyme, romsemary and oregano! Yum!!! What an easy, flavorful recipe!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
I'm sure the cause of non-5 star rating is my own fault...I only had corn meal mix, which is flour/cornmeal/baking soda mix. I used 2c. of this with everything else. I wish I would have either used 1 1/2c. or 1/2c or so more liquid, the end result is a little dry but tasty. Will go great with the Fusion chili, which is the best chili ever (find it on this site).

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I love Tiramisu, but i was a little disapointed in how it came out for me, the only lady fingers i could find were the soft ones, so when i dipped the lady fingers in coffee they became really mushy so it actually ruined the whole desert, i guess next time i will brush the coffee instead of diping them, other than that the marcapone filling was great. but i will say i will defenetly try it again!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
This was excellent and an easy substitute for the stove-top method. The things that we would do differently is to make our own cream base to taste, add baby carrots about half way through and leave out the onions...if you don't LOVE onions, leave them out. Also, we prefer Bisquick dumplings to canned... they were fabulous. My husband took frozen leftovers of this, and his office wants me to bring it in for their lunch one day. They were very impressed.
