These are some of the ugliest cookies you can make, but they sure do disappear fast. :)

Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I rated this five stars, but it was my first sourdough starter, so I really have nothing to compare it to. I like the way my bread turned out, but it tasted more like plain white bread and less like sourdough--I'm not sure if that's because I only had my starter for two weeks when I made the bread, or if the starter isn't very good. Next time I do it I'll wait longer and see what happens. Thanks!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

This was good, but it seemed to be missing something. The flavor wasn't all there. I'm not sure what could be added to complete it, but it was all eaten regardless.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Using a 9x13 pan, I could only stack half a 10.5 oz bag of marshmallows 1-1/2 deep. Any more would have been messy and overly decadent. Otherwise, the recipe was spot-on! Thanks for sharing this! :) Oh, we also used two large (40 oz?) cans of sweet potatoes, which made this recipe a breeze.

This was very good. I used crushed red pepper flakes instead of the chilies. I was yummy! Served over rice.

Excellent recipe as is. Made 2nd time for dinner guests, with shrimp, seaweed, and very thin sliced mushrooms over stir fried noodles, with a side cucumber salad and fresh tropical fruit. Guests raved saying that it was a great goumet meal.

This recipe is amazing! I made it with my siblings for fun, and it turned out great! This was my first 100% successful attempt at candy making and I was pleased that the end result came out so well. Scrumptious flavor; the ingredient portions were perfect. I cooked it to about 248 degrees and it set very well, plus, the texture was superb. Thank you for the fantastic recipe. I'll most definitely make it again.

Sugary Orange Peel

Everyone said, "Candied orange peels? That's disgusting." And then they tried them. Not bad at all, and easy enough to make, if a little time consuming. I used extra syrup mixture as well, and I saved it for the next time I make sticky buns.

Excellent texture, color, and smell--just a little bland. Easily doctored with some butter, though. Next time I'll try doubling the brown sugar. Thanks!

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
It was good, but it would've been five stars without the pepper. It just didn't mesh well for my tastes. The only other change I made was swapping the olive oil for veggie since I didn't have olive on hand. Will make again sans pepper. Thanks Jana. :) To the reviewer who said her zucchini was soggy by the time the potatoes were done: you must cut your ingredients approximately the same size (the potatoes slightly smaller). Bear in mind the potatoes are more dense than the zucchini, therefore they take longer to cook. Next time try cutting your veggies and potatoes to suit.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
ok, i may be jumping the gun here. made the sauce and it was WAY too salty. will it mellow once the whole thing assembled? should i doctor the sauce to reduce the saltiness? 1 tablespoon of salt seemed like a lot, and it is! the sauce has wonderful flavor and texture, other than the extreme saltiness. i'll make and bake, then up my rating to 5 if it finished product is tolerably salty.
