Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

I halved this recipe for a (very) quick weeknight dinner and it was absolutely perfect! So savory, cheesy, and rich. I'm making it again this week. Thanks for a great recipe!

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Made this with my leftover turkey carcass and it came out perfectly! I made a few small changes based on previous reviews- 1/2 the amount of butter and flour and added extra veggies and a cup of frozen corn. Also added dried thyme, sage, and a bay leaf to the simmering stock. Next time I will use fat-free 1/2 and 1/2. My husband and I love this soup! Thanks for a great recipe!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Big hit at Thanksgivingdinner table. So quick and easy to assemble -- which I did the night before, brought close to room temp and then cooked along with other side-dishes in a 375 oven while turkey was resting. Definitely a new must-have side dish.

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I made this for a brunch and everybody seemed to enjoy it as there were few leftovers. It slices very cleanly from the pan (I followed prev. reviewer suggestions to bake crescent rolls for about 7min first before adding sausage, etc). However, I found it lacking something in the way of flavor. Perhaps using spicy or sage sausage next time will help? I'll definitely play around with this recipe again!

Slow Cooker Chicken Parisienne

Assembled and cooked recipe as written but used fresh chicken tenders and a carton of fresh mushrooms. Chicken was tender and sauce was delicious; served over egg noodles. Easy, economical and now a new family favorite.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

This is absolutely delicious! The suggestion from another reviewer to use panko bread crumbs mixed with the parm on top was perfect as it helped create a true, crunchy, "popper" feel. This is my new favorite dip recipe! Thanks Denise!

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Yummy! These fries are good. :) I deep fried them, and tweeked the recipe a bit. I didn't have garlic salt or onion salt, so I replaced it with a combination of onion poweder/ garlic power and salt. I also used less paprika and some regular pepper.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Yikes. I'm very disappointed after reading all the rave reviews. I decide to bake this on a whim because it looked easy and I had all the ingredients on hand. The batter tasted fine, but it came out very dry (and I tend to underbake a tad for moistness) and very bland.

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
I've made adobo before (and eaten it many, many times), but I couldn't remember the entire recipe my adopted Filipino family taught me, so I tried this one and brought it into work for my Filipino coworkers to try. The flavoring is very light, more like "American-ized Adobo". Everyone agreed that much more vinegar is needed for "real adobo". The chicken came out very moist and tender, falling off the bone, but this is due to cooking it in the slow cooker. It didn't taste bad, it's just not a strong enough flavor. Add a lot more vinegar when making this, I recommend Native cane vinegar, found in Filipino and Asian grocers. The soy sauce is probably the right amount, maybe a little more as the coloring seemed to be about right.

absolutly amazingly good! :D just 2 things to say: 1. thanks VM for sending me pecans!! and 2. the calorie count doesnt include the crust because it isnt in the ingredient list! so for 1 piece of pie its like 500 calories lol (if you cut it in 8 pieces).. its really good though, a small piece goes a looong way! :)

yummmm soo good! i used butter instead of oil, about 2 tbsp. made 6 burgers. I made the beef broth with a beef boullion cube and hot water. I also mixed the flour with cold milk (about 1/2 cup) and added it after I added the broth. really REALLY GOOD!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

I followed advice of some reviewers, and when I shared this bread with friends, they couldn't believe I made it myself. They thought for sure it was from a bakery or something like that. Wonderful :) Now I just need to buy more loaf pans so I can make more than 2 loaves at a time.

Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Taking a previous reviewers advice, I also used 2 boxes of brownies and also added 3 tbs of butter, 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tbs of flour to the cheesecake mixture. I had no problem swirling the cheesecake mixture on top. Just take a spoon, and add dollops all over the poured mixture and use a chopstick to mix and swirl. The brownies came out incredibly moist and the cheesecake topping was rich and perfect. I took them to work and they were a huge hit. An instant favorite easily and yes, possibly the best brownies I've ever made!

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
Awesome! Family loved it! followed the recipe exactly, only I used 1 cup of beef broth , added red bell pepper and 2 cloves of garlic to the onion.. thanks Jacquie! this is a keeper! In Chile we make something very similar, only we add sliced hard boiled eggs and black olives to the meat mixture (no ketchup either).. we spice the meat up with paprika, cumin and garlic. And no cheese or onion in the potatoes. Sugar is sprinkled on top and browned in the oven.. I know it may sound weird but it is really good!
