Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
I made this bread and it was gone by the end of the day. The recipe doesn't mention what amount setting to cook it on. My bread machine allows for 1, 1.5 and 2lb. loaves. I chose the 1 lb. option and it was perfect. Dipped in some oil and seasoning (pepper and romano). My sister-in-law raved about it as well. I'm making another one this week. Thanks for sharing!!!

theses cookies were okay, i disliked them. they need more flavor so i added 1 tsp. of vanilla and instead of all shortening i used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup shortening. after that they were amazing

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
I made this recipe as stated. No changes were needed at all. We enjoyed it so much we had it 2 weeks in a row. One for ourselves and the following week for a friend that was just out of the hospital. I realized the first week that the recipe makes so many servings I was able to make it the second week and split it with enough for both my family and hers. It is a little time consuming but is definitely worth the effort.

I used Mozzerella Cheese and Omited the mustard...Also I added peas. My kids went back for seconds, but my husband and I both thought it was good, but not great. Could be the changes I made.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
I made this for a memorial wake for a friend of mine and the it was the first thing gone off the dessert table! I used regular Cool Whip to mix with the chocolate pudding and milk, and I used Cool Whip Lite for the layers between. I also used a dark chocolate brownie mix from Duncan Hines. I think those two changes made it a touch less sweet but it was still plenty sweet enough! Sprinkled semi-sweet mini chocolate chips on top and it was beautiful and delicious! Definitely going into my regular dessert for company rotation!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Fabulous! I microwaved it, just seemed easier that way. Did 20 seconds and then stirred, 4 times so a total of 1 minute 20 seconds. Very smooth, poured so nicely over my cake and stayed where it landed! I poured it over a devil's food bundt cake and then sifted some powdered sugar on top for effect. A gorgeous and delicious cake made even better by this perfect glaze!

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Holy lip smacking good!! This is, hands down, bar none, the BEST pulled pork I have ever had!! I had a 6.5lb pork butt roast, cut it in half and trimmed off some of the really visible fat on the bottom of it (but left much of it for flavor), put it in the crock pot, poured a can of beef broth and the coffee over it and let it do its thing! The only thing I changed was the time. I started it at 10:00 last night and when I got up this morning at 5am it seemed good but wasn't quite as tender as I'd like, probably because it's a bigger roast. So I let it go on low all day while I was at work. Came home at 4:00 - it literally fell off the bone it was so tender, I had to actually use a spoon to get it out of the crock pot! Took a couple of forks and shredded it... perfection! So it cooked a looooong time... about 15 hours. I have to tell you - the longer it cooks, the more tender and flavorful it gets! Do NOT be afraid to let it cook on low all night and all day before you serve it! Poured a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's honey BBQ sauce and put it back in the crock pot for another hour to let the flavors blend. Served it with cole slaw (I like to put slaw on top of it on the roll) and I've got to tell you, there's nothing much tastier than this! This is hands down a favorite in my household from now on!

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
Absolutely perfect! It came out so tender we barely needed knives! I did a 4 lb sirloin roast for 2 1/2 hours in a dutch oven with a foil tent over it and it couldn't have come out any better! Just ever so pink in the middle, tender and juicy throughout! And the gravy... heaven! It was thin coming out of the oven of course, more like au jus, so I added 2 TBSP of flour and put it on the stove and stirred with a whisk non-stop until it was thickened and bubbly and it was perfect! This will be my only pot roast recipe from now on!
