German Potato Pancakes

Reviewed on May 18, 2009 by ANNEKRZ
They tasted delicious and crisped up nicely in the pan. However, they were basically hash browns! Didn't hold their pancake shape at all. As soon as I moved them to turn, they fell apart and basically became a pan of hash browns. Happened with every batch I fried. But again, 4 stars for the taste and texture because they were yummy and I didn't have any leftovers so it's still a winner!

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed on Sep. 13, 2008 by Mason&MitchellsMom
I was making hamburgers for lunch for my 2 boys and a friend of theirs. When I realized I didn't have frozen fries I pulled up this recipe and threw them together. It probably took me 20 minutes. (I only made half of the recipe). The boys loved them!!! My husband walked by and plucked one off the plate and raved about how awesome they were. I didn't alter the recipe at all. I think that if I were to make this recipe a habit I may have to consider the baked version instead of the fried version. Great recipe! Thanks for sharing!!!

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed on May 25, 2008 by ANNEKRZ
These are great - remind me of my grandma's with one little change. I add a little milk so they're not so dry, and omit the sugar entirely. Because when they're fried up and ready to serve, I sift a bit of powdered sugar over them and it's just the slightest hint of sweetness that just puts them over the top!
