Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
Great pudding! It did get clumpy after it thickened, but a good whisking solved the problem and yielded a nice, smooth consistency.

Southern Sweet Potato Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I have eaten Sweet Potato pie all my life because I have lived all my life in the south. Because it always tasted like pumpkin pie I never made one. I made this pie and noticed that the recipe didn't call for vanilla so I used vanilla buttter nut flavoring and I also used fresh nutmeg. It was so goooood!!!! Best thing was it didn't taste like pumpkin pie. Everyone that tried it loved it too. I will make this for Thanksgiving! This will jow be a family favorite. My neighbor said it was the best sweet potato pie that he has ever eaten. He is 74 and has eaten many.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I thought this was delicious! The only things i changed where that i used onion powder instead of onions since me and my husband don't like onions. And I used cracker crumbs instead of bread crumbs. Also we were out of brown sugar so i used regular sugar in the sauce. But I loved this recipe and will definetly be making it again in the future!

Beefy Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I thought this was good and so did the kids (7yo dd had 3 helpings!). Hubby said it was "ok". I left out the onion and peppers (family preference) and added minced garlic to the oil. I used canned tomato soup instead of the ketchup and tomato sauce. I also added a packet of taco seasoning. Served with corn bread! Yum! Thanks for the recipe.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
Soooo good! Only used 4 cups of milk and probably doubled the hot sauce. I put 3 frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crock and covered them with everything else. Took out the chicken and shredded about an hour before eating. I also added some red and yellow food coloring to give it that orangey buffalo wing color! Whole family loved it. Thanks!

Pasta with Peas and Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Wanted to try something with noodles that wasn't red sauce and had some italian sausage- so, here we are! I did leave out the peas (family preference) and used 1% milk instead of heavy cream. I also added some flour towards the end to thicken it up. Whole family liked it- would make again.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
To quote my husband "This is the best soup I have ever had". I didn't make it exactly as written... microwaved 4 pieces of bacon until almost crispy, then broke into pieces and finished in the skillet with minced garlic then added the butter. Also used whole milk instead of heavy cream (what I had on hand). Other than that, no changes! Yummy! I wish there was more leftover....

Cheesy Brat Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I had to change this to suit my family's taste but it was really good! I used cream of potato instead of cream of mushroom. I also used cheddar cheese soup and subbed corn for green beans. I still added the shredded cheese about 20 minutes before serving. Whole family loved it! Thanks for the starter! :-)

Yum! I have been waiting to try this and this morning it was finally cold enough! The pepper freaked me out a little but once I tasted it...no more! On the reheat I did add about a tsp of vanilla which made it even more tasty. Thanks!
