Calico Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
I loved these beans! I made them as a side dish for an Easter get together. I left out the ground beef and used bacon bits. Thay turned out great. I cooked them at 275 degrees for 2 hours.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
This is the first time I had prepared spaghetti squash and I must say that it turned out really good! :-) I didn't have fresh tomatoes so I used a can of drained diced tomatoes and fresh grated parmesan cheese instead of the feta. It's a keeper! Next time I'll try it with the feta! Simple, easy and delicious!

Coney Sauce

This was good. Next time I will leave out the salt. And I did not add the msg. I added paprika and pepper instead. Because It was salty, I added a Tbs. of brown sugar to balance it out. After that It was really good!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
I only made the sauce. It was good. I used Italian sausage instead of making meatballs. I also added half a packet of dry spaghetti sauce mix.

Tumbleweeds

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
These Were Great! I didn't bother measuring the ingredients I just kind of threw it all together! Very Easy!! However I did make two changes. I used half a bag of peanut butter chips instead of the 2 tablespoons of peanut butter(I love peanut butter). And I used a double boiler to melt the butterscotch & PB Chips together.

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
This was very good. Although I did make some changes. I also used Beef broth in place of the water (as suggested by others). Instead of frozen vegetables I used a can of corn (drained) an can of lima beans (drained) and I cut a potato into small cubes. I cooked it longer than 20 minutes to allow the potatoes to cook all the way through. I will make this again, and next time I will add an extra 2 tablespoons of onion soup mix for extra flavor.

My family did not like this. The meat seemed to absorb the pickle taste too much. It was overpowering. Sorry.

Chicken Macaroni

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
I was a little scared to try this one thinking it might be bland or weird. It came out great! I added some garlic powder and sauteed onions. I tasted it before I put it in the oven and thought, not so great. But something happened while cooking because the finished product was really good. I also added some frenchs onions the last few minuets of cooking.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
WOW! These came out amazing! Extremly tender. I used a dry rub recipe I found on this site. As well as a mixture of hot & spicy bbq sauce and honey bbq sauce. I basted them again at the end of cooking and stuck them in the broiler to cook on the sauce. I can't wait to make these again!

Spinach and Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly.I love all the ingredients in this recipe so I thought it would be great. It was terrible! I used real white wine (not cooking wine) Maybe I should have used cooking wine because the sauce tasted really bad, and cooking the chicken in the bacon grease made my house smell really bad. If I could give this recipe no stars I would.

Simple Texas Salsa

This is a great recipe! I used two cans of rotel for the tomatoes. I thought it would taste like it was missing something due to the short list of ingredients, but no it's just right.Although I did squeeze half a lime into it. I suggest letting it chill 24 hours before serving.

Iowa Corn Casserole

This was very good but a little runny. Next time I will add a can of kernel corn along with the two creamed corns. I will also use crushed cornflakes instead of plain breadcrumbs, for more of a crunch. I will make this again.

Hash Brown Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2006
This was good. Only changes I made were to cook the hashbrowns longer to make them crispier. I also added a little worchteshire sauce to the meat mixture and some frenchs onions on top for the last few minutes of baking. I would make this again!
