Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
This is a wonderful, easy recipe. The only thing I would change - I'd reduce the butter to two or three tablespoons because mine came out a little greasy. I also changed the ratios of chips - I used one cup milk, one cup white, and one cup dark chocolate chips. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla extract. I'm going to try making a cookies and cream version of this tonight. Thanks for the great recipe!

Peanut Clusters II

Really good Basic recipe to start with. I did make a few mods to my taste. I added a 1 TBS of vanilla. Then instead of semi sweet I used milk cholate chips the whole bag and a whole bag of peanut butter chips. 3 cups of rice cereal and 2 cups of nuts ! My Kids and neighbors went nuts for these so I must of did a good job !

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Very yummy. I added more sugar, but not a cup worth. I also rolled my cookies in the powdered sugar. I dough was very easy to work with when it was cold, but as soon as it warmed up it required a lot of sugar to keep it from sticking.

Sugar Cookie Icing

very simple. I didn't measure anything i just added more milk or more sugar so i got the consistency i liked. I mixed it all up and put it in pastry bags for 2 seven years olds and 3 year old to decorate cookies. They had a lot of fun and it was easy.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

These were good, but they ended up being very flat and thin. I've made them twice now, thinking that maybe I'd done something wrong the first time around, but they were just as flat the second time. I'm not sure what's up with that, but I'll keep experimenting.

Sausage Potato Casserole

Fantastic! Very easy, quick and tasty. I didn't bother to peel my potatoes and it was just fine. I sliced mine in the food processor so it made it twice as fast. Mine only took a little over an hour to bake. Thanks for a great recipe!

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I chose this because of its high rating, and that it could be made gluten free. I've been cooking gluten free for awhile, but am just beginning to try my hand at gluten free. : ) It went together quickly and was the first time I'd used vinegar in a cake before. It went in a 9x5 pan - so it makes like a snack cake. The cake was great with powdered sugar on top. Yum-yum!

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This is an amazing recipe. I even hesitate to call it a recipe since it's more like alchemy or witchcraft on meat. I've never been pleased with my roasts, expecially this type. However, this is truly amazing. I had some questions about the method, etc, so I decided to record my experience carefully. Here's the amazing numbers. 6 lb. roast; inserted digital themometer at outset. Roasted uncovered on a rack in my roaster. It rested on the counter top for at least an hour before going into a well preheated oven. After 1 hr the internal temo. of the meat was 111 det F. Oven off: at 1hr,38 min temp was 127' 2hr,21min it was 135', at 4 hrs total time temp was 126' It sat for about 30min and then the oven back on at 375. I was amazed at how quickly the temp increased inside the meat. At 15 min it was back to 132'. At 33 min it was 147' and I took it out after 37min at 1509 degrees. It then sat for the better part of an hour. When I cut into it I was blown away. This is not your average cooking stuff. Somebody has spoken to the cow god. Thanks so much for sharing. Believe it, Do it, and enjoy certain applause

Chicken with Mushrooms, Prosciutto, and Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This was incredibly good! I used chicken breast since I had them on hand, and mixed some sliced onions in with the mushrooms. This was delicious served with garlic mashed potatoes and California blend veggies. The sour cream gave a different flavor to your typical cream sauce.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
This was very good. My husband made this tonight for dinner since I had to work really late and it was so good. We didn't have dried parsley so he substituted thyme and it was fine. Our chicken breasts were large so we cooked it longer at 400 degrees since our oven is slow. Great and easy recipe!

Creamy Clam Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
This is the basic clam dip recipe I've made for years. Originally found it on the label of the minced clams; now I had to search for it here. I usually make double this amount and make one of the cans of clams CHOPPED, not minced, so there are a mix of larger and smaller chunks. Yum!
