Cake Mix Cookies VII

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
I made my cookies with brickle chips. I thought they were VERY sweet. I don't know that I would make again. They weren't bad, just a little too sweet for me and I LOVE sweets. I did get more than two dozen cookies out of mine. I used a 1 tbsp. cookie scoop and they made pretty good sized cookies ( I am guessing about 48).

Chicken Tacos

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
These were good, although I would not classify them as great. I thought the chicken would have more flavor. I liked them and will probably make again unless I find another recipe that I like better for chicken tacos. It may be because I used Crystal Light Instant Lemonade. Maybe the flavor was more bland for that reason. It is a good alternative to beef tacos though. We enjoyed. Thanks.

Grilled Fish Steaks

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
This recipe was good. I put my fish in foil packets because I didn't have a grill basket and I was afraid the fish (I used cod) might fall apart. The flavor was good but I am not sure I would make again. I have several other fish recipes that I like much better.

Simple Savory Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
I thought the flavor of this was great EXCEPT it was a bit too salty. If I make this again, I think I will make it with less garlic salt and add garlic powder. Overall it was good though if you didn't eat a big piece of the outside cut.

Caprese Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2005
We loved this salad. I chopped the tomatoes and cubed the cheese. I also coarsely chopped the basil. I did this primarily for ease of eating for my 6-year-old (and she loved it too). I used the balsamic vinegar. I will definitely make again and again.

This is a very rich and yummy dessert. The members of my book club loved it! I sprinkled the top with mini chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2005
I am not a huge fan of salmon, but this was really good and it couldn't get much easier. I used about a pound of salmon, but used about the same amount of seasoning and it was very flavorful. Instead of fresh garlic and dill, I used dried dill and Tastefully Simple Garlic Garlic and it was great. My six-year-old daughter loved it and actually had seconds. This is going into my permanent collection. Thanks!

Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2005
These cookies are excellent...and the texture the day after is perfect & soft! I used 1/2 chocolate & 1/2 white chocolate chips & I even added a tablespoon of instant vanilla-flavored coffee, which gives just a hint of coffee flavor! I think you can really play around with the flavors you use with the pudding! Also, cook them until they are just about done, but not quite...they will stay so soft the day after!! THANKS!!!

Graham Cracker Crust II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
Thia came out too crumbly. It would not hold together even after baking. And then once I filled and baked per pie instructions, my crust smelled burnt. I must have done something wrong. If I make again, I will use more butter and I will not bake until I fill the crust.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2005
This was good coleslaw. I omitted the onion because I do not prefer onions in coleslaw. The dressing was good however after sitting for a couple hours the slaw was a bit soupy. I served with a slotted spoon. You could easily add more cabbage/slaw mix to make it less soupy. Overall though the flavor was good.

Hearty Tuna Casserole

I thought this recipe was good. I did not have any zucchini on hand, so I used mushrooms in place and they were great. I used with lowfat ingredients and it was still yummy.

These were really good. I cut the recipe in half because there were only three of us. I used extra light olive oil and ground ginger because that is what I had on hand. I thought these were very tasty.

Not a bad recipe, just average in my book. The wafers came out a bit dry for my taste. Took them to a party and they were barely touched. Probably would not make again.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
On a scale of 1-5 I would rate this dip about a 7! It is so good. Made it tonight for a party and my guests all raved about it. I had very little left and there were only about 10 people here. It was so easy too. Served with blue tortilla chips and it was by far the most popular dish on the table. I will definitely make again. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
