Homemade Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
I'm new to the whole cooking scene, and I think I made this more difficult than it needed to be. I had to leave it on the blender for longer then 10 minutes, but it turned out great. We tasted it after it had been chilled and decided it needed more taste so I melted it partly and added honey. Taste faboos!

Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
I thought they were wonderfull for my first time trying. I had a difficult time moldong the dough however, I had to resort to the donut holes. I was halfway through the dough process when I realized I was out of vanilla so I used almond or some sort instead.

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
This was my first attempt at any sort of dough that required yeast. I think they turned out wonderfull. I didnt feel that I needed that much extra flour, unless you count the flour that was needed to coat my hands and my prep surface while I was kneading the dough. Thanks for the recipe.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

The taste was wonderful. This was my first time working with dough however and I can tell its going to take some practice. I used one teaspoon of brown sugar also. I think this would be great as pretzel sticks.

Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
Like other reviewers, I thought this was an excellent base recipe. I bought smaller cans of salmon, so I would not have to deal with bones or skin (gross!). I tweaked the recipe based on acouple of suggestions from other reviewers: I used saltine cracker crumbs in place of bread crumbs. I add a little milk to hold the mixture together better (and didn't get all the liquid out of the can, while draining). I added onion powder, instead of onions; Old Bay Seasoning and some dill. I would like to try it again adding the Dijon mustard. I wanted to do that and simply forgot until after I made the patties. They tasted great! My only complaint was that my house is a little stinly after making these. Will definitely make again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This was really good. I think the next time I make it I will also cut back on the brown sugar, as I used a sweet BBQ sauce as well, as other reviewers have suggested. We are going to enjoy the leftovers on a salad later this week. This is super easy since I didn't need to thaw the chicken first (I had no problem with the sauce consistency).

This is very good and super easy. My only complaint is that the recipe makes a huge amount. We ended up throwing half of it away because we couldn't eat it all. But it was very good.

Ham 'N' Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This is a very good quiche recipe. The only problem I had was I tried to cut it almost immediately and it was a little soft in the middle. Next time I will let it sit for a little while before slicing. Overall the taste was excellent. Family loved it.

Hearty Ham Loaves

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This recipe is excellent! I made this as the recipe calls for except I made one big loaf instead of two smaller loaves. I shaped it into loaf form and put it in a 9x13-inch baking dish. this made it easier for the glazing process. I was a little worried about the glaze because it smelled very vinegary, but it was really good. We did not eat it right away as I had made something else for dinner, but ate it a couple days later and it was still very good. My husband said he wasn't too thrilled to hear we were having ham loaf but after he tasted it, he loved it. I used leftover Honeybaked ham, which added additional sweetness. I would definitely make this again.
