Easy Sugar Cookies

Soft, moist, delecatable cookies! This is the perfect base for tweaking the recipe or adding toppings. They taste great the next day too....assuming you have any left.

My husband liked this. Just a littls time consuming for me. I made sure I cooked them on a low-med heat setting so they would not burn on outside.

West Indian Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
Great recipe but, be careful of salt. I used only 2 teaspoons because 2 tablespoons seem like quite a bit. I also used 2 scotch bonnet peppers. I like my curry spicey! Placed this over white rice add some steamed cabbage with some fried plantains, now you have a real West Indian meal!

I liked this recipe. I used ground turkey instead of ground beef. I also used brown rice. Hubby loved it since it was his first time ever having this dish. I served them with bowties and homemade spaghetti sauce, and a tossed salad.

I could only give this recipe 3 stars because I had to add my own touch to it. In addition to the ingrdients I use chopped tomatoes, salt, garlic powder and parmesan cheese(freshly grated of course)

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
This is a traditional pumpkin pie recipe. Although it turned out perfectly, one thing I will say is that it tasted basically like every pumpkin pie I've ever had, which is a good thing and a bad thing. I like my desserts to stand out above the rest, and this just tasted like your standard, run-of-the-mill pumpkin pie. Which, we all know pumpkin pies are GREAT, but I prefer something a little different when serving food to guests. I'd like them to be able to tell my cooking and frozen pie / Kroger bakery cooking apart. =] I did use the pumpkin pie spice in lieu of all the individual spices and it turned out fine. I probably will make again, but I'll find something else to take with it. Thanks for the recipe.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
This is a great basic recipe for chocolate chip muffins. They turned out perfect. It is a great base to tweak however you like and experiment with....as they are, they're pretty foolproof. I added a splash of vanilla extract, used a full cup of milk, and made a little less than 1/4 of my cup of sugar brown sugar. I used about 3/4 of a cup of chocolate chips, but then sprinkled a few extra on the top of each muffin before I baked them for added chocolate as well as aesthetics. They turned out picture-perfect. Next time I'll probably add a pinch of cocoa to my batter and give that a shot. These were great!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

I was expecting so much more after so many high ratings! This was disappointing, but I won't give up on it just yet... I think it is a good base recipe. Something is off with this- maybe the bread to egg ratio or the cook time.

Great banana muffins, even if I tweaked it a bit. I added cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. I also added a crumb topping and they were even more delish... I made a different batch for my students and they were asking for seconds, good thing I made a double batch.

I made these biscuits for a sick neighbor. Her family happened to be over also. They disappeared quickly. Needless to say I had to go back across the street and make some more. Good thing I has biscuit mix already done. I add 1 tsp.garlic powder, 1/4 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp. dried parsley and increased cheese to 1 cup. Deeelish!!!!!

Sex In A Pan III

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
I was looking for a way to mimic the dessert served in a local restaurant ("chocolate delite"). This is it! So creamy, decadent and easy! Keep your eye on the crust or you'll get too much crunch in your finished dessert. Doubling was easy- this translates well to a 9 X 13 inch glass serving dish for square servings. Do NOT expect to have leftovers! Great recipe!

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I am so glad I finally found a biscuit mix that actually tastes this great. They are light and fluffy and no baking powder after taste. They are close to my mom's who made the best biscuits from scratch. She only use self-rising flour, crisco and milk. Wish I paid more close attention when was making them. I used 2 1/4 cu mix and 2/3 cup buttermilk. I followed the instructions to the tee with the exceptof brushing the tops with butter. AWESOME!!!

Quick Greek Pasta Salad with Steak

This recipe gave me an excellent base for a pasta salad even my husband loved. I used alot of feta, no olives and plenty of thinly sliced red peppers. I took this to a low country boil (I am not a fan of shrimp) and it was gobbled up pretty fast.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
This a fabulous base recipe. You can really throw in some personal touches here. I added more garlic and some good old Worchestershire sauce (what's a burger without that?!). Served them on toasted whole wheat buns with with diced jalepenos, a splash of A1 steak sauce, and swiss cheese. Terrific! (And my family- who hates ground turkey- loved these burgers!)Thanks for a great recipe!
