Polish Meat and Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
This was WONDERFUL! I did not change a thing. I couldn't believe that I made something this good, haha! My husband thought A COUPLE of potatoes were too firm, so, I would just cook it a little longer. However, many of the pieces were so soft that they were beginning to get mushy. You just have to be careful and make sure the potatoes cook evenly. Will definitely make again!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
Because my pancake mix had expired, I seared for a recipe from scratch. The only thing I did differently was double the amount of sugar and vanilla extract. I don't know if it was needed because I always use syrup on my waffles. I tasted it by itself, and it tasted like an average waffle! I would make this again and save money by not buying the pancake mix!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
This was good! I left out the mustard powder because I didn't have any. I only gave it a 4 because I am not a huge fan of this type of steak, but it still tasted good.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
I gave it a 4 because I thought it was way too sweet. I do plan on cooking it again after I buy a bundt pan. Because I cooked it in the loaf pan I don't think it came out just right.

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
I rated the recipe as a 3 if you leave it as is. It could definitely be higher if you do some of these suggestions. First of all, I cooked it in the crock pot on low all day (without the pasta, cook that separately). I also added about 1 pound of ground beef. I found out that I am not personally a fan of ground beef in soup now, so I don't plan on doing it again. However, I will add Italian sausage next time. I substituted onion and garlic powders for onion and garlic since I didn't have the real thing. My husband only likes Northern beans, so I did not use the other beans. I also used beef bullion in the 5.5 cups of water. We also added a can of diced tomatoes. My husband wished we would have added carrots as well, which we didn't have. Also, I would add celery. Lastly, 2/3 cups of parmesan cheese fell into the crock pot instead :) Again, if you add some more veggies, I think it would improve the recipe to a 4+.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
This recipe calls for too much spinach. I only used 5 ounces of fresh organic spinach, and I still felt this was too much spinach. I would probably use only 3-4 ounces next time. I sauteed the spinach with garlic powder and onions. I also had 2 ounces of left over deli ham that I added to the quiche. I totally recommend adding the ham because the taste of the ham added a delicious flavor. I also added an extra egg. My last critique is the cooking time. Because I added the extra egg, it took longer to cook. I cooked it on 45 minutes on 400 and saw that it needed a lot more time because the center was wet. I end up taking the foil off to cook. I recommend taking the foil off maybe at 30 minutes cooking time and cook the remaining 15 minutes with the foil off.

Goulash Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
I didn't care for this. I added bacon to this dish and substituted one can of stewed tomatoes for diced tomatoes (I was short one can). The noodles came out chewy if you cook them in the skillet. I also thought the seasonings tasted odd in this dish. Don't plan on making this again.

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very good! Only thing I did differently was put 1 1/4 cup of flour because I had a bad experience with another recipe. Turned out good, although I overcooked them.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Wonderful! That is all I can say about this. The only thing I did differently was season chicken with salt/pepper/onion powder, did not use onions, and substituted chicken broth instead of water. DELICIOUS!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
Extremely disappointed if you follow the recipe as is! I followed the recipe exactly as described. It calls for WAY too much flour. Do not use 3 cups of flour. I don't understand why some people got cakey cookies and some people did not. I absolutely got cakey looking, flour tasting cookies. Maybe start with 1 cup of flour until you get the consistency you want. I will make this recipe again, but I will just modify it.

Awesome recipe! I will definitely put more cheese on it the next time, but other than that, it was awesome! I wish my noodles would have come out just as good ;)

Chicken with Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Way too mushy. I did make modifications so it would taste better. I added a can of celery soup, basil, and onion powder. It definitely tasted better. It was so mushy I put it in the oven and put cheese on top. Tastes great with modifications!

Sour Cream Chicken Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
I made this recipe last week for my husband and I. The only modifications I made was add more cheese because I didn't think there was enough cheese added. I only gave this recipe a 3 because it didn't taste the best for me personally. I would recommend only 1 egg, not 2 eggs. The quiche looked like an eqq quiche when it came out of the oven. Be careful when making this recipe because it is possible you may burn the crust to get the center cooked evenly. I probably would not make this again because the ingredients didn't seem to go together.
