Baked Chicken and Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
My husband and I both think it was fabulous!!! I sauteed the the zucchini with a little lemon pepper herb in a cast iron pan that the breaded chicken was cooked in . Then followed recipe as is. I swear that makes the flavors much better!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
What a great new addition to my chicken recipes! I added sauteed garlic and fresh spinach. I also doubled the sauce but I used light cream cheese and only 1/4 c. butter, just to make it a little bit lighter. I seared the chicken breasts in a frying pan before baking. Thanks to the reviewers for all their tips to make this recipe truly outstanding.

Spicy Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I make a sandwich like this except with provolone cheese and red onion, no tomatoes (I don't like them) and I added banana peppers. Great recipe though!

Greek Penne and Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
OMG!!! This was really GOOD. I did change a few things. I used the Feta cheese with the Garlic and Herbs, and I used the canned Diced Tomatoes with Green Pepper & Onion. I had the can of Artichoke in water already and I read other reviews about needing more flavor, that's why I got the seasoned Feta cheese, and then the seasoned Tomatoes. I only used like 3/4 of the Penne Pasta box. It turned out PERFECT!!! My 12 month old daughter ate it!!!!!!! I will be making this again.

Fresh Cherry Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
Man, I messed this up six ways to Sunday. The cherries were Bing & were huge & I used too many. The batter didn't rise but turned out more like a butter toffee candy bar intersected by semi-deflated cherries the size of plums. My bad. Am I eating it? Uh, hell yeah! Even made incorrectly, it still tastes awesome:o)

No-Mayonnaise Ranch Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This turned out pretty darn good, considering it's low fat. I'm still undecided about the addition of dried parsley, though. Definitely tastes better after it sits for a day but next time I'll try it without the parsley:o)

I didn't think this was amazing enough for the amount of dishes I had to dirty up in order to make it! It certainly looks pretty but the flavor isn't there for me. Thanks anyway:o)

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
I loved this carrot cake recipe. It was very moist and delicious. The frosting, however, was way too sweet. After making the frosting and tasting it, I added another 12 ounces of cream cheese and then it was just right. Next time I would start off with 2 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar and add as needed.

Orange and Rosemary Baked Olives

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
These are delicious! I used kalamata olives, which aren't called for here but that's what I had. Surprisingly, the olives didn't overpower the seasonings & after sitting at room temp for about an hour, the flavors just melded together. Wonderful recipe & next time I'll use the olives that are specified. Nice job:o)

Frosted Grapes

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Hi. My name is Jamie and I am addicted to these grapes. They are so refreshing and tangy for summer. Unfortunately my hands turn red every time I make them, but it's well worth the cosmetic inconvenience. There was a contest at the library recently to depict a book in food form and I made these for the Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. They were the glittering upper class and I had raisins below for the underprivileged :) Thanks so much!

Indian Relish

Sweet, spicy, fast, cheap, & easy. Sort of like me:o):o):o) I cut the pepper flakes back to around 1 tsp. & added cornstarch as others did. It isn't even cool yet & half of it's gone. Awesome with cheese or just plain crackers. I will always have this in the fridge. Thank you so much for sharing! Love it!:o)

Grilled Rosemary Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I think the name of the recipe is a little misleading. All of the flavor comes from the steak seasoning, which I love & use often. Dried rosemary & parsley?!?!? Not in this house. That's like an insult to tenderloin! I did however make a compound butter to melt over the top & no, it didn't need it but man, that took it over the top. I was a very bad girl tonight. Don't judge me:o):o):o)

Corn Salad II

I wasn't expecting anything particularly special with this recipe, I just needed to use up some leftover corn but I really liked this. It's a nice twist on the 'ol cuke/sour cream dish we all know how to make. Very refreshing salad:o)

Triple Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Incredibly moist is right. How sad that I made this in a rush without reading the reviews! The flavor of my cake was nice, but I could literally hear a "squish" sound when took a bite. It's not inedible, but definitely be sure to use 2 cups of water instead of 4. The whipped topping was great, and strawberry slices made it even better.

Garlic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Unfortunately, I used medium size eggs and the mayo ended up being quite excessive mixed with the punier yolks. The taste was pretty nice, but of course it can be doctored up with condiments of your liking such as horseradish, rice wine vinegar, hot sauce, etc. A good basic recipe, but make sure to add the mayo in increments :)

Broccoli Coleslaw

Addictive! I used the oriental-style ramen and added diced red pepper for color as well as 2 TBSP tamari sauce, 2 TBSP minced garlic, 1/2 tsp ground ginger and red pepper flakes to taste. The people I'm serving it to are big on lots of flavor and it surely won't disappoint!
