Pear Pie III

Great Recipe! Making another one tonight since the one from last night is gone already! Got rave reviews from my bf and roommate...I added crushed pineapple, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Very tasty and gave it more flavor I thought!

Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This was the first time I tried to make chocolate ice cream....and it came out great!!! Tasted very expensive and rich...I substituted just 1/3 cup of cream for milk for a bit less greasiness, and added 1 tsp. vanilla and a pinch of salt. Used 2 bars of Hershey's Special Dark chopped up and put into ice cream maker last few mins. of churning. Was very chocolatey and will make again!!! Thank you!!!

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
This is a very good recipe. The first time I made it according to the directions (minus the nuts) and it was good. The second batch I made I added about .5 cups more strawberries. Substituted 1c white flour for whole wheat. The bread was still very good. In the future I will also reduce the sugar.

Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
This is totally delicious and easy to make. There is no need to fry the shells though. They roll up easy and it's less fattening to leave the oil out. You can make these quickly and it looks like you spent hours. Add black olives, refried beans...or garnish with sour cream when finished...and it's a real winner!! It's a winner without adding any extras as well. I plan on trying the Red Enchilada Sauce from this website like another member suggested!

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
I liked it and so did my husband, the really picky eater! Given other reviews I increased the cocoa powder by about a tablespoon (I like chocolate!). Then as I was mixing in the powdered sugar I did some taste tests. At about 2.5 cups added it was sweet enough for my simple cake. I then added enough milk so that it would spread without tearing my cake. After those minor adjustments it was perfect! Thank you for the recipe.

This is a yummy pumpkin bread. Since it makes 2 loaves I made one plain and sprinkled chocolate chips over the other YUM! I also cut the cloves slightly and added allspice.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
This is a great chicken recipe. Easy to do, easy to change, and always oh so good. The chicken always comes out tender, sweet and juicy...even when over cooked. I have also done it has breast halves (let them soak for a long time) and it is still wonderful! Thank you for such a great recipe!

Mom's Stovetop Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
I LOVED this!!! Great flavors and this cooking method really kept my ribs very moist and tender! The only thing I had to change was that I did have to drain some of the liquid myself from time to time, or I would have had to cook it forever. Thanks very much for a great recipe!

Catfish Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
Great recipe! I really enjoyed this. After reading many reviews, the only change I made to the original recipe is I baked the fish instead of boiling it for 20-25 mins at 450 degrees. I topped the cakes with dots of cocktail sauce as shown in my photo! Thank you for sharing this with everyone!

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This was OK. I follwed all the directions except I added one cup of sour cream and still felt that it needed some other flavoring to it. It was a little bland, but a good base recipe for green bean casserole. Will make again using more spices and sour cream.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
I love this recipe! I make it all the time. I only gave it four stars however because the vegetables were bland. I decided to drizzle some lemon juice on them as well and sprinkle some seasonings on to give them a bit of a kick.

Lemon Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
This recipe makes good grilled chicken right off the grill or later on salads. I use boneless skinless breasts so I only marinate for about 2 hours to keep it from being too overpowering. This is one of my husband’s favorite chicken dinners. Thanks! Loren

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
These are good, even my picky husband said he would eat them again. The only change I made was to use 2 whole eggs instead of butter to coat the chicken. I did not use a wire rack like many recommended, so they weren't too crisp, but very tasty and tender. Thanks!

Karen A's Chocolate Dump Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
Karen A certainly knows cakes. Took this to a pot luck and they gobbled it up. Now I am making one to take in to work. Both have been chocolate. Yummy! This is a very good cake and easy to make. The only things I changed was to add some chocolate chips to the cake/pudding mix (to give it an all around more chocolaty taste) and to bake it for about 30 minutes (my oven is a little strange). Thanks!
