Made this today and it was moist and delicious. Will add allspice and ginger to it next time for a kick of spice. Overall, this is a keeper as the entire family loved it.

I didn't realize I was out of lemon juice until I went to add it. So I cooked them without. They were good, but I'll definitly use the lemon next time. And I'm definitly cooking this again!

Roast Beef with Coffee

The smell that filled the house was incredible! I didn't make the gravy, but I will next time. It was so moist it was falling apart in the crock pot. I did it a little longer than 3 hours, and it was delish. I'm about to heat some up now!

Fantastic!! After the first bite I said I was going to make these again. I will use less butter next time, as advised, but these were so full of taste, it was amazing. Everyone loved them!

Candy Cane Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
My mom made me these with a small variation ever since I can remember. I tried this recipe and it tasted the same as hers. MAKE SURE YOU CHILL THE DOUGH BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO ROLL INTO BALLS AND ROPES!! I used full teaspoon of peppermint and also crushed candy canes in the red dough. These just remind me of childhood. My hubs does not care for these as he thinks they taste like flour, I will admit they aren't overly favorful or sweet but thats what makes them good :)

Thin Mint Crackers

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I've made these a few times. The first batch I used Andes Mint Baking Chips and melted them slowly in the micro and I topped with crushed candy canes. The second batch I made with Nestles Limited Mint Choco & Dark Chips and did the micro melt again. These took a little longer to melt and the mixture was a little thicker on the ritz, but they def taste more like the GS cookie! Both ways are fantastic! But I think now I'm partial to the mint choco! Thanks for such an easy recipe! Everyone loved them!!

Chewy Cinnamon Bars

These were so delicious! Very chewy and flavorful. I didn't have any pecans, so I substituted coconut, and also added 1/2 cup cinnamon chips. I'd love to try it with the pecans next time.

Cindy's Beef Tips

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
This is one of the best beef and gravy meals I've ever had or made! You certainly can't tell it's lower in fat because the gravy is so rich and creamy. The flavor of the beef when sauted until really brown just makes this so yummy when the bits are scraped up when adding the broth mixture. Fresh mushrooms could be used also. If you are looking for a really tasty down home comfort food, don't look any further!!

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
Made this a few times. Very good. Seems to have just a little too many dried herbs in the composition(for our taste) but very good. I'll probably cut the dried herb proportions down to 75% each of what's listed next time to try out. But a really good easy recipe to use what's in your pantry! Thanks!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

A really good basic recipe. I've made 4 batches of it so far this holiday season. Only comment: flavor seemed bland when I made it as written so I altered it to use 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 almond extract instead. Delicious! Will be hanging on to this one.

Taco Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
Very good and hearty. I like the composition of these 2 great salads bc the pasta gives it such substance and taste and doesn't wilt like a traditional taco salad after it sits after awhile (then seemingly ruined / perished). Good stuff!
