Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
excellent flavor, texture and accuracy re: recipe. I did adhere to some of the recommendations here like the 2 tsp vanilla extract. Additionally, I added 1/2 cup of pre-soaked raisins. DELICIOUS!

Good Ol' Alabama Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
Sweet Tea the way it was meant to be! I noticed some of the other reviewers mentioned that they had trouble when pouring the hot tea into a glass pitcher. To avoid this, there are a few different things one can try. My Mom and Grandma both use ceramic pitchers that they bought in the NC mountains...the glazed clay pitchers don't break as easily as their glass counterparts, and can be ordered online these days (though a trip to the mountains to go pottery shopping is always fun!) Or, if you prefer, you can add the sugar during the boiling process, and then SLOWLY pour the tea over a pitcher full of ice, thus cooling it as it goes in, and eliminate the need for the extra water! Such a fantastic recipe! Thanks!

Strawberry Cream Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
came out too runny and had to freeze it overnight, it was more like a frozen pie than a fluffy pie. I think it may have been that the strawberries were too watery, or I did not fold in the cream well enough. I may or may not try again, its too bad because these strawberries were handpicked and so sweet.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
the cookies were OK following the recipe exactly. they're a little plain. however i did a side batch with extra sugar and chocolate chips and those were awesome! also the serving size is way off. my recipe yielded about half the amount, i like regular size cookies. if i did teeny-tiny ones, maybe i would have had 36 as says. easy & good recipe nonetheless. lots of room for experimentation!

Merenges

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
good recipe; easy to do. have to cook them on low in oven and for a bit longer so they dont stay chewy inside. it helped to drop smaller merengues, the larger drops did not cook well inside.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
very good cookies. yes they spread a lot for me! and they cook really quickly. i cut a little sugar and added a little more peanut butter (reduced fat kind) and it came out great. you can savor all the chocolate and pb without them being too sweet...!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
very easy recipe!!! came out great on my first time doing choc/choc chip cookies. delicious flavor, not overly sweet. if you bake for 8 min's, inside they keep the consistency of brownies, if you bake for 10 min's they get crunchier. i used organic/natural cane sugar and a little less vanilla extract (because i ran out), but they were still delicious... ALSO i made a few "Spicy" ones by adding a little cayenne/cinnamon spice. they were great! so very versatile recipe too.

pancakes came out completely flat, eggy, and did not cook well, despite leaving on heat for longer than it should. i dont know if it was because i halved the recipe. but not a good one and i dont think i'll try again.

Chicken Pot Pie IV

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This is very similar to my recipe I use. I use 1 can of cream of chicken soup, only 1 vegetable (corn usually by Green Giant)1 low fat cream cheese and 1 cup of mozarella cheese on top. Very fattening but the taste is better than none especially with the cream cheese added.

Berry Shortbread Dreams

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
great tasting cookies! a few things i changed: had to bake them a little longer than the recipe says, about 20 mins. I used GUAVA jam and put choc chips in a few. very good!!! Also, had to add about 1 tbsp more of water to the glaze, because it was too clumpy. however after adding the glaze to half the cookies, realized its way too sweet. so next time, i'm leaving that out.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
good thick brownies, very natural taste; did them exactly like recipe says and it wasnt as sweet as i thought they'd be. but that was good! the topping does mix thick but melts when you put on brownies as soon as they come out of the oven. then it gets melty and shiny. overall very good recipe! a little cakey yes, some parts came out fudgier than others, maybe the cooking time needs to be reduced? oh also, an 8 x 8 inch pan only yielded 10 brownie squares.
