Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Just like Grandma used to make. Full of flavor and very creamy. I made a double batch and I am glad I did, it is disappearing fast. And very easy to make. No more pudding from a box for me,this is so much better. Thanks for a great recipe. God Bless.

This is so good and easy to prepare. The only change I made was to use all chicken stock and no water. This is so delicious I ate some for breakfast.

Ham and Swiss Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I made this as directed but also added honey mustard brushed on the inside of the dough, and put caramelized onions between the ham and swiss. Everyone loved it and I will make this often. This recipe is perfect as a base recipe as well. Next time I will try a version of Philly cheese steak. Thanks for this one- a definite keeper.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This is one of the best apple desserts I have ever made. You don't taste the Mountain Dew, it just combines with the other ingredients to make a delicious sauce. I love cinnamon-sugar so I sprinkled some on the inside of each crescent roll before I rolled it up. So simple, you could make it anytime, but special enough to serve guests as well. Excellent served warm with vanilla ice cream. Thanks so much for this recipe, I will make it often.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
I am famous with family and friends, for my strawberry cream cake, which I had always frosted with sweetened whipped cream. I decided to use this recipe, and what can I say it is absolutely amazing. It whipped up flawlessly, and the taste is so rich without being too sweet. Thanks for a fantastic recipe. I will no longer use simple whip cream in any of my recipes, but only this.

Surprise Banana Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
This is a wonderful recipe, and the first one I have had that doesn't have the taste or texture of a banana bread. I did make some minor changes, omitted the nuts as I don't care for them. And added 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. of cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg. I frosted with a cinnamon flavored cream cheese icing. I will make this recipe often.

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I was one of those people who thought making ganache was way out of my league. This recipe is so easy and so insanely delicious. I whipped the ganache when cooled into a filling that I used in thumbprint cookies, just as a change from the usual jam filling. I got such rave reviews that I will use this from now on, whenever I need any type of chocolate filling. Simply fabulous. Thanks for the recipe.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Absolutely fabulous. The only minor change I made was to add 1/2 c. of shredded cheddar and 1/2 c. fresh parmesian (BF is a cheese freak). I also did not add any extra salt. This soup is even good cold. Thanks for a great recipe.

PHILADELPHIA Cherry Danish Dessert

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
The flavor is very good, but I did not like the way the crescent dough pastry turned out. Not flaky, but somewhat rubbery in texture. I will make this again but use puff pastry next time. ****AN update - 1st time I used the store brand crescent rolls, which I said were rubbery. I have made them a second time using the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. This is a definite 5+ star rating. Thanks

Microwave Caramel Popcorn

So easy and so delicious. I used a glass bowl instead of the bag. Next time, I want to try adding cashews and drizzling with chocolate. The other day, I found myself eating this for breakfast, just can't get enough, it's truly addicting.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
This pie is so good, people I work with have put in their orders for Thanksgiving. I did make a few minor changes 1. Used chocolate cookie pie crust 2. Spread hot fudge on crust and on top of filling 3. Drizzled with a little peanut butter sauce on top. 4. Increased peanut butter to 1 cup. If I could give it 10 stars I certainly would. Thanks Megans.

Gingerbread Biscotti

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
Fabulous!! I, too, reduced temp to 350, and added 1/2 tsp. of salt and 1/4 tsp. baking soda. The flavor was perfect, no bitterness. I drizzled them with a simple vanilla glaze. These just taste like the holidays, and the whole house smelled wonderful. Thanks for a great recipe!

Best White Icing Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
This is an excellent recipe. As stated, it looks a little "iffy" when you start out, but mixing it for the full 5 minutes turns out beautifully. I halved the recipe and added 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon then piped it onto cinnamon biscotti. Absolutely delicious!!!!

Classic Butter Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
Excellent cookie, and so versatile. I use the log method, making 2 logs and wrap them in wax paper. I keep these in the fridge, for up to 2 weeks, and slice and bake anytime. Often popping a batch in the oven, first thing in the morning, so everyone has fresh cookies in their lunches. I can customize the cookies for everyone...some plain, some with cinnamon and sugar, chocolate glazed, or use flavored store bought icings. I have to say, since I found this recipe, I always have a log or two on hand. Perfect for a busy Grandma.

Blueberry Buckle

This recipe was delicious. The only things I changed were I didn't have shortening so I used butter, used brown sugar in the topping, ran out of flour so I used cake flour and I baked at 350 for 45 min. I will definitely make this again!
