Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
This recipe was so easy, and my kitchen smelled heavenly. My husband couldn't wait until they came out of the oven! The only change I made was adding about 1/2 tsp of vanilla to the batter. Mine made 12 muffins, not 10. So good! Thanks!

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
This was simple and delicious! I doubled the recipe so I had some to freeze. I added some minced garlic to the onion, added a 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper, used half fat free half & half, and half regular, and used imitation crabmeat. Before adding the second half of half and half, I used my wand blender, and blended half of the recipe. This was terrific, and I will def. make it again. Thanks!

Applesauce Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I took this recipe as a base, and made it my own. I had leftover fruit pulp from the juicer this morning (rasberry, strawberry, orange, lemon, grapes, bananna), and it tasted so good, I didn't want to throw it away, I wanted to make it into a bread. Not knowing where to start, I came to allrecipes :o), and I used this recipe as a base. I had a cup of pulp, added 1/2 cup of cinnamon applesauce, and 1/2 cup of berry applesauce. I used half whole wheat flour, added a teaspoon of lemon zest, and added 1/4 cup of ground flax. Also, I added about a cup of craisins. I took off half a cup of sugar, because I thought it would be too sweet otherwise. I greased and sugared the loaf pans, and it was done in 65 minutes, not 80. Most delish! Thanks for the jumping board!

Rosemary Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
Ok...OMG! This is a great recipe. I added on it a little due to the reviews about it being bland. I made it per directions (subbing 1 cup of fat free half & half instead of 2 full fat), then I layed half of the potatoes out, sprinkled 1/3 cup parmesan, and 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese. Layered the rest of the potatoes, and topped with the other 1/3 cup parmesan, and more goat cheese. Also, I cooked them for what it said, but at 400 (because that is what my meatloaf was cooking at), and it was fine. My husband thought these were divine!

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
This was very good! I added a little extra onion, but maybe thought that it could have used less sauce (since I was serving it on hoagie rolls with topped with Mozzerella cheese)It ended up kinda watery in my crock pot. I fed my husband, my kids, and my neighbors, and they all liked it. Simple enough, that is for sure!

Cajun Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffe

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
The flavor on this was very good. We don't have crawfish here, so I used andouille sausage. (I am not a big fan of that sausage, so maybe a kielbasa next time?) My husband said some okra would have made a nice addition, too.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
This was amazing! Ok, I added half whole wheat flour. And then when I rolled it out, I did something else. I put about 1/2 cup raisins in a food processor, and mixed it with a tablespoon of butter to make it more spreadable. After the butter, I spread the raisin mixture, and ground (almost fine!) pecans, then cinnamon sugar...then rolled. This was so amazing toasted for breakfast. My family loved it!

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
OK, this rocked, although I made a lot of adjustments. I made it more healthy, and it still was raved about. I halved the oil, and added applesauce. I used half whole wheat flour. I cut the sugar to 2 cups, and then used 1 cup of Brown sugar instead. I also added 1/4 cup of ground flax seed for the omega fatty acids. Also, my blueberries were a very ROUNDED 2 cups. This was so moist and delish. The kids inhaled it! Yummy delish!

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
Ok, the flavor is good. I love cinnamon with meat (ever since I tried it with my Greek friends!) But this was very "soupy"...And I only used 2 cups of chicken broth!! I like chili to be more hearty and less watery. Next time I will start with one cup, and add more if needed.

This recipe worked out great! The kids loved helping out, as it was easy to do as a family thing. We also mixed all the liquids and eggs first. From pancake experience, it works out the best in having a lump-free mix. Thanks for posting it!
