Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
My family has been making this for many years; it is my daughter's favorite dinner. We usually serve it with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. I have tried other cranberry and pork recipes and been disappointed - this is the best!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I made this with a pork loin because I didn't have all the ingredients to make the Taste of Home "Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork" recipe which can be found on this site. I was disappointed and will not make again.

New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
For me, there was too much sugar in the crust. I was also hoping this would be a really rich cheesecake like what I had growing up bake east but it just wasn't. It's good, it just wasn't what I know of NY style cheesecakes.

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Loved it! My cranberries "popped" before 10 minutes so I just lowered the heat and continued to cook and thicken the sauce the full 10 minutes. I also used another reviewers tip and mashed the cranberries as they popped with the back of a spoon. This will be a regular at holidays now!

Bacon-Wrapped Venison

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
My boss brought me a venison tenderloin Thursday that he had bagged on Wenesday. I made this last night for my M/I/L and B/I/L. I loved this and so did they! I almost followed the recipe, but think it would be good as written. I added a splash each of soy and worchestershire sauce and doubled the garlic. Marinted 2 hours, then wrapped in bacon and grilled these. (I did not make the sauce with the mushrooms). My filets came out tender and sweet, not at all "gamey." Served with grilled garlic asparagus and roasted sweet potatoes. If I'm ever the lucky recipient of a venison tenderloin again, I'd definitely repeat this recipe.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
This is very good but added fresh rosemary and thyme. Used olive oil instead of butter. Cut liquid smoke to 1/2 tab and added Worcestershire 1 tab. Added 1 tab. vinegar and 1/8 cup brown sugar. After I shreaded pork I added my favorite BBQ sauce, approx. 1/2 to 3/4 bottle to slow cooker. It turned out great! Now these changes made it a 5 star!

Smoked Cheese Ravioli

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
The sauce is too runny and had a slight grainy texture no matter how much I whisked it. I added more cheese to try to thicken it up but it didn't help much. The taste is very good but I did cut way back on the pepper after reading other reviews.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
I let the garlic and oil sit for about half an hour, allowing the oil to be infused with flavor. Used Italian seasoned bread crumbs.`I had 4 large breasts and thought the amount of crumbs was just about right, with a little extra to sprinkle over top. I found this recipe very flavorful.

This is a great recipe! I just added a little apple vinegar to it. The buttermilk is what makes it though.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I have been searching for a good Asian Orange Chicken recipe and this is excellent. I only changed a few things because of flavors that I like. I put in Red Chile Sauce for sweet but hotness and I put in more orange zest, juice and ginger for my liking. You can taste it as you make it, which makes it nice. I added some veggies to the sauce while it was boiling (5-7 minutes) and then thickened the sauce. Everyone loved it!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
First off - these cookies are awesome! Crispy outside, chewy inside! BUT...I would recommend softening the butter. I also used salted butter because the recipe didn't have salt in it. I am not sure what Cream of Tartar actually is, or if has salt in it but either way the cookies turned out great!

Caramelized Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I followed the directions exactly, except I baked at 400 and it still took 15 minutes. I covered the pan with parchment paper, which worked really well. I'm wasn't too crazy about the cinnamon though, and next time I will put less or try another reviewers suggest to use ground mustard powder instead.

Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
These were ok. Like other reviewers have stated they don't have much flavor on their own but I always top mine with butter and syrup so that made up for it. Flat pancakes are easier for me to cook as I always end up with raw centers with thicker pancakes. Making pancakes is one of many things I just can not perfect, these were fully done so that was nice!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
These are definitely the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made and if not the best I have ever eaten, then pretty darn close! I made absolutely no changes to the recipe except cutting it in half. Use high quality chips! My cookies came out crunchy on the outside and chewy inside just like I like them! Will be making again I'm sure!

Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
These were good and I'd make them again but even with 6 dashes of hot sauce they barely had any heat to them. So if you want spicy, you need to add more hot sauce for sure!
