Cheese Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
This was so delicious and filling. I served it on a cold snowy day.. I did alter it to my taste. I added one cup of beer (lager) and 1.5 cups of chicken broth instead of the water. Then I added frozen cubed hashbrowns instead of the potatoes. I added them after I added the cheese. I also chopped up some green onions as well as a regular onion because I love onions.. Served it up with some beer bread...Yummy!

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Very good! Subbed carrots for squash and more yukon potatos instead of sweet potato.I didn't have a roasting pan so had to use the botton tray of a broiling pan covered w/ a sheet of aluminum foil. So the tips of the onions got burnt and I ended up lowering the temp between 425-450 degrees. I used half lemon juice, half balsamic vinegar. The veggies had a wonderful, fresh taste and beautiful appearance!

Cinnamon Popcorn

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
So awesome! I cut the butter in half, because why would i put 2 sticks of butter in w/ one bag of popcorn! bUT STill used same measurements for cinnamon & sugar. Put in oven 20 min at 200 degrees. My friends ate it right up , they asked where i bought it from, not knowing i made it myself. They thought this popcorn would make a killing at the movie theaters!

Baked Ziti IV

WOW!! I took the advice of some of the reviewers and subbed the ricotta instead of cottage cheese and kept the sour cream in even though i hate it by it self.(couldnt even tell it was there) I subbed oregano for the rosemary also. I made this for the superbowl halftime and it was gone in 10 min! I had to push through everyone just so i could taste my own cooking before it was all gone! It was heaven...thanks!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
This was awesome! With some tweaking..I started off w/ everything in the crockpot for about 4 hours on high except half & half and flour. (I did a double recipe, hoping this would turn out great.) I didn't include any basil b/c didnt have any and from reviews not many people seemed to like it. I then made a rue w/ the flour and some butter in a large pot(b/c my crockpot is small, had to transfer to large pot for more room) then whisked in the half & half. I started off with raw potatoes so they still werent done. After about 1 and half hours on med-low and some "potato smashing " in-between, they were perfectly soft. I had to add alot of season salt(lawry's), some garlic salt, extra real bacon bits, more pepper and more hot sauce (because it was verrry bland and I love my salt) but after all that the consistency was thick and perfect!!

Shrimp Kisses

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
Pretty good but I had some smaller shrimp on hand and i tried over and over and could not get a large enough slit even on the insides to fit a small slice of cheese in so i ended up just setting the slice on top of side of shrimp, wrapping tightly w/ the bacon and securing w/ a toothpick..pretty tasty!

Savory Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
You have no idea! I hate mayonaise,(I can't stand the sight, taste or smell) and I have no idea what came over me when I decided to just try to make this..but I did, and I just can't believe it , you cannot taste mayonaise at all. My mom is even worse about mayo, (she will seriously get ill at the sight...probably where i got it from) and I decided to make them for my parents without telling her about the mayo and she loved it. Hated me for a couple hours after I broke down and told her but she got over it! Suprisingly wonderful recipe, thank you for helping me broaden my horizons!

This was awesome, thanks! I made this for a quick side dish with my salad . I just used minced garlic from the jar and even used fresh wheat sub rolls because I didn't have the french bread on hand and I turned out excellent. I think I am going to make some more right now!
