Minted Pea Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
This can also be made with yoghurt or creme fraiche with a bit of EVOO instead of the sour cream and mayo. I also add "smidge" of minced garlic, which for me, is one clove... S&P to taste.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I thought 1-1/2 hours for baking already seared chops would be way too long, and I found them to be way overcooked, no longer resembling the beautiful chops I started with. I made a mushroom cream sauce from scratch which was lovely... I will go back to my standard method: a quick sear and 15 minutes each side in braising liquid over very low heat... sans bread crumbs.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
This is a great recipe & really easy and fast to make. I followed the suggestions...such as..used a ziploc bag to coat chicken, tripled mushrooms, double sauce, added chicken broth and garlic. I served this over long grain rice. Big hit with the boyfriend!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
This recipe should be called GREAT Old Fashioned Pancakes! I used 2 Tbs. sugar, and added 1 Tbs. lemon juice & 1/2 tsp baking soda. I've tried many "from scratch" recipes & these are the best.

Mack's Tunaburgers

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This was ok. I used steak sauce instead of teriaki. My kids liked it. I too am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but we don't count seafood as meat, so this is a great way to use tuna. I also used about a 1-2 tsp. of cayenne pepper instead of hot sauce. The only thing is that you have to start out with a really thick patty to end up with a well cooked burger. I did a lot of flippin' and smashin' to make sure it was not mushy on the inside, all in all, a good recipes!

Seven-Up™ Mud, Fruit Slide Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
If I did this right, (I'm blind and using a screen reader) I've rated this recipe five stars. I made this cake for a memorial service that was held at my church. It went together in a snap. It was so moist, it didn't need a glaze. I followed the directions exactly, and got a delicious cake I don't feel needs any modifications.

Coq Au Vin, My Way

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
This was delicious, lots of work. I used baby bellas instead of portabellas. The store I shop at only had huge bottles of burgundy, so I used a red wine I had on hand. The only thing was my sauce was a little runny. Which is strange since I added more cheese then what the recipe called for, I did use the cornstarch. Maybe I will increase the amount next time. It tasted great the next day as leftovers, I served mashed potatoes and green beans.

Beef and Potato Nacho Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This was so yummy, I made it twice and tweaked it to my taste. I omitted the beans, green peppers and green chiles. I'm not a fan. I also added an extra taco packet and can of the nacho cheese soup to the ground beef. 15 minutes before the time was up I sprinkled a shredded Mexican cheese blend on top, and continued to bake. Also we ate it rolled in flour tortillas with sour cream. Soooo good.

Beef Stroganoff III

This was a great recipe, I followed some of the reviewers tips. Including marinating the meat in red wine, adding garlic, worstershire, medium yellow onion, I used fresh mushrooms, and added cream cheese. It still could have had some more flavor. Next time I will add some more spice to the meat.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Simply delicious! I used 2 cans of beef broth and 1 can of stewed tomatoes, omitted the celery, thickend the broth slightly at end of cooking time with some cornstarch. Otherwise, I followed the original recipe- very easy to prepare! Thanks for sharing a great recipe. I will definitely make this again.

Tastes just like mother's snickerdoodles she used to make every Christmas. Thanks for a great recipe! I took the advice of others on here and only baked mine at 375 for 8 mins. - perfect! Also, only dipped the tops in the cinnamon sugar so the sugar wouldn't burn on the bottoms.
