These are excellent. They are slightly crisp yet still chewy. Made them for a party and the kids loved them.

Herbed Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
These really thickened my chicken veg. soup. They had good flavor, but I wanted something that held together a little bit better. I started with a soup and ended up with a stew. Which isn't a bad thing, It's been so cold outside. I usually use refrigerated buttermilk biscuits cut into quarters for dumplings in my stews and soups. I will keep trying. It would be nice to put "from scratch" dumplings in my homemade soups and stews, just haven't found the right one yet.

ok...add anchovie paste, crushed red pepper and butter to the garlic(sounds weird but trust me) then when ready to serve add some ricotta cheese on top!Takes it to a whole new level!Oh, don't forget to squeeze out the water from the spinach.I use just a plain white kitchen towel.

Birthday Bones

Easy recipe. I only had regular peanut butter, so I used that. I added some wheat germ and garlic powder and substituted chicken stock for the milk. My puggle, Mindy, loved a bite of the batter and has not left the kitchen since they went in the oven! I have no doubt she'll love them. We're bringing them to our Obediance Class Graduation tomorrow night.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
Just delicious! At first I was weary of the flavor, but that was my inexperience in good cooking. After cooking for 8 hours in the crock pot it was just like my Mom's -- my ultimate goal! I added celery and corn because I had them on hand. Also, instead of water and wine I used about 4 cups of water with 4 beef boullion cubes for flavor. Not an exact measure -- I just made sure everything was covered in broth and used 1 boullion cube per cup of water. This was great! The meat was SO tender.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
Made exactly as shown - very dense bread, more like a cake. I had used a 9x12 rather than loaf pans. It was not all that flavorful so I ended up putting a light cream cheese frosting on it. Makes pretty good bars, but not great bread. Zucchni Bread by Linda recipe is more of the classic zucchini bread I prefer.

Mama's Potato Salad

I was looking for a different potato salad then I usually make. I tried this and it was great. I used tangy dill relish instead of chopped dill pickles. I will make this recipe again.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
Oh My!!! I have been condemned to a low fat, low cholestral diet. I am a true meat eater. I am a burger expert. I used seasoned bread crumbs and steak rub seasoning. I layered it tomato, romaine, lite mayo, ketchup and onion. It was pretty dam good. It was moist and flavorful. I was expecting something like meatloaf flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. Can anyone find a substitute for Delmonico steaks?

Yum. Even my fussy 10 yr daughter liked it. The sauce was tasty. I use it for chicken nuggets and wings. It is an occasional treat because of the calories, but it is very close the Outback Cyclone Chicken. Thank You.

Whiskey Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
My Mother in law makes a similar cake. I made this twice. I used chopped cherries, mini chocolate chips and walnuts. I omitted the milk and used Captin Morgan's Spiced Rum. Excellent. I agree with others on the butterscotch chips. It made a mess of my pan. Dust it with powdered sugar and you are good to go. This is a great recipe for all those shaped bundt pans. Use baker's secret spray.

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
The familly really enjoyed this. I used a nice thick cut chop. I didn't cover them, but put them on a cookie sheet sprayed with butter flavor PAM. I'm giving only three stars because I made so many changes. The orignal seemed bland. I used more spice in the crackers, I put Old Bay season in the eggs, along with 2tbsp of light mayo. The crust was excellent. The chops extremely tender. I used a meat thermometer to check for doneness. I depise a dry chop. Thanks for the idea, it was the a good place to start.
