Corn Dog Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
My great nephew (7 y/o) and myself, made this tonight. Everyone loved it.It was very filling and very easy to make. I changed a few things because I didn't have the right stuff.Instead of green onions I used a green pepper and a regular onion. I did not use rubbed sage, because I didn't have any, and instead of using 2 lbs of hot dogs I used 1 pd of cheese dogs and 1 pd of polish sausage (big hot dogs)and it was delicious!!!

I have tried many recipes and always come back to this one. Using powdered sugar instead of flour when rolling out only improves flavor. YUM.

Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
My Mom always made this except somewhere along the line the sausage got substituted for hamburg - probably due to cost. I ususally combine both. If not stuffing the bird, I don't use as much butter but do use some chicken or turkey stock to moisten it up. I have also used bagged bread stuffing cubes, rather than make my own (sometimes, anything to save time). Either way - Thanksgiving is just not the same without this stuffing at my house...yum!

My Crab Cakes

The hot pepper and garlic overwhelmed the delicate crab. I tried again using half the pepper and garlic. I used Panko crumbs instead of bread crumbs. Very good base recipe. They held together well while frying. Tune the spices to your liking.

Pumpkin Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I actually made these cookies for a group of Vegan friends, and without the butterscotch chips they are completely vegan safe. (There's milk in the chips) They were an absolute hit with all the friends and didn't last 30 mins! I don't think i even got to have one- I will have to make them again. The only thing is, I cooked them for about 4 mins longer, and it could have used a little more than 1 Cup of pumpkin.

Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Well we just had it and let me tell you, the family loved it. My wife said that it wasn't something she would order out, but, if I wanted to make it 2-3 times a month she would love to eat it. We could absolutely see this made for our parties and family gatherings. Also, I also only used 3/4 cup brown sugar, added 1 med onion(diced up) and 1 green bell pepper (diced up)
