Juicy Roasted Chicken

I'm sorry, I just didn't care for this. It may have been that my chicken was too large and had too much tendons, etc. But I've made other, better chickens.

Very good. A nice different way to cook chicken. Looked beautiful. I flattened chicken slightly for even cooking and probably used a little less cheese, but it was Yummy!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Good, but not what I remember of Chicago pizza--mainly the crust. Was a bit letdown but it was a good pizza. I did let the cheese dry out in the fridge and let tomatoes drain well as others suggested. Precooked crust about 10 minutes. Used pepperoni not sausage and mushroom due to our family's preference

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Delicious! I pounded out the chicken a little bit, just to even out. I marinated a few hours in the teriyaki and still poured teriyaki on top, but probably would skip that step next time because most just rolled off into the dish. Added cheese and bacon and scallions in the last 10 min or so. Cooked until it was 160 degrees---Husband, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old all loved it!

Venison Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
I'm not a venison fan, but my father had given me some and I hate to waste food. I was pleasantly surprised. The stew was yummy. I only had 1 pound so halved everything but forgot to halve the liquid, so used 3 cups liquid (1 cup beef stock, the rest water) and used 2 T flour and 2 T brown gravy mix plus 1/4 cup water for thickener. Probably used a lot less salt than called for. Threw in some frozen cut green beans at the end

Shrimp Kisses

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
My husband said these were the best things he's ever eaten! Made for New Year's Eve. Followed suggestions from reviewers--Precooked bacon, froze cheese pieces, broiled 5-7 minutes. My shrimp was labeled Med/Larg. I think truly Large shrimp would work easier, I had to cut my cheese pieces in half to get them to fit. Oh, and I used marbled colby/jack cheese

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
Addictive is the right word for these! Used chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. Wore plastic gloves and used my hands to mix warm cake with frosting to get things mixed real well. Didn't need chilling, just used small cookie scoop to shape balls. Froze balls before dipping---shouldn't have, it made the chocolate set too quickly when dipping. Will just chill at this point next time. Also, used alot more dipping chocolate than called for. Made 47 balls and used a 12 oz bag of white candy coating and a 15 oz bag of milk chocolate disks so I ended up with white and brown treats.

OK. Maybe a bit too greasy, coating didn't stick real well. baked at 250 and checked every 7-8 minutes so they didn't burn. added a teaspoon of hot sauce and omitted salt since the nuts were salted. used mixed nuts
