Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I have to say I was a little hesitant to make this recipe b/c of the lack of ingredients... but they were wonderful. I was in a pinch to fill a tray of Xmas cookies and was lookin for something simple... and this was it. I did add a tablespoon or so of brown sugar and added some 1/4-1/2 cup of flour. They turned out awesome! Thank you!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
This is a very tasty cookie and very easy to make. I did not, however, like the texture of the dough or the cookie. It was very dry and hard to roll into balls. Not only that but putting in the oven just until the cookie started to crack yielded a cookie that would fall apart if handled normally. My husband rates cookies by their 'dunkability' in milk - this cookie failed miserably as it fell apart just holding it above the cup!

Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
These are very tasty and very easy to make. I ended up adding a bit more apple juice than was called for as the dry ingredients didn't mix well and it still turned out well. I doubled the apples and doubled the cinnamon. I also used baking soda and cream of tartar instead of baking powder (because I didn't have any on hand or at least so I thought until I found some putting everything back in my pantry) and it still turned out fabulously. Will definitely make these again!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2008
I agree with everyone else - these are the most amazing snickerdoodle cookies EVER. As someone else said, feel free to be liberal with the cinnamon and sugar topping - I think I used about 5 tbs. of cinnamon and 10 tbs. of sugar for all 4 dozen and they came out fabulously.

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
Great recipe - loved every bite and was a big hit in my house. Take care to ensure that the topping is 'crumbly' before putting on top of the apples - I found that the parts that didn't mix with the butter didn't get moist when baking and caused it to taste a little gritty.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
This was very tasty. I was disappointed in that the 'crust on top' didn't 'cook' and found that the crust on the bottom became too hard to scrape out of the pan but it was much more complete than other recipes I've tried. I think next time I'll try moister apples and see if the top cooks better

This is the most amazing banana bread ever! I needed to unload 7 bananas and this recipe took 6 of them. Very moist and yummy - I may never try another! I added 1/8 tsp. vanilla and 1/4 tsp cinnamon and its DELICIOUS!

Sweet Potato Cranberry Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
I made this for my very first Thanksgiving dinner and it was a huge hit. I even loved the leftovers the following day. I made it the day before except for the topping and final baking. I did that part just before I took the turkey out of the oven. While the turkey set and then was carved, the sweet potato cranberry bake finished baking so that everything got to the table at the same time. I loved this recipe!!

Sausage Applesauce Appetizer

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
I made this for a potluck dinner with friends and it was awesome! My cooking skills are suspect at best (which is why I love this site and the reviews - so helpful to us fledgling cooks!). I was amazed at how simple this was to put together. I used extremely hot sausage (which is what we prefer). The sweet and the spicy - perfect! This is going in the regular rotation!

I'm still new to cooking so this may have beeen a little too tricky for me to attempt. But since my father used to work for Al Capone (the butcher) when he was a young man I had to give it a try. Thanks for the wonderful recipe and memories!

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
This was fantastic! I made this for my family last night and they went nuts for it. I should tell you that my cooking skills are so bad that my husband has taken to drinking Slimfast at night to avoid my cooking. So when I put the chicken on the table for the rest of the family he looked at it with great suspician. When he saw us enjoying it so much he tried it and ended up eating two pieces! I added some Paul Prudhomme spices to the breadcrumbs to kick it up a little. Fabulous recipe! Thanks so much!
