Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
This pot pie was delicious. I used chicken, and added white wine to the carrots and onions. One thing I would recommend is to double the milk, so its a little more creamy, and maybe decrease the oregano a little. It was to overpowering.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
This was easy and delicious. I used the milk and vinager, and it came out good. The topping threw me off a little because it was sticky and sunk into the cake, so I swirled the best I could.I definatley could have doubled the topping.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

This dish was very tasty, althought I thought you could have easily used a pound of bacon. I also used only 3 eggs instead of 4. Good brunch recipe.

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
I'm giving these macaroons 3 stars because, I made them exactly as they were in the recipe, and for the bottom I used parchment paper. DON'T USE WAX, OR PARCHMENT PAPER!! I even sprayed the paper with butter, they stuck so bad I had to throw about half of them out. I was so mad. Also, I didn't care to much for the added vanilla, you don't need it. I did add some drizzled chocolate to them at the end. They were good, but not GREAT!

Baked Seafood Au Gratin

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This recipe was delicious, if your a real seafood lover. I altered it a bit though. I cut the onion, pepper, butter, and seafood water to 1/2 a cup. 1 1/2 for milk, used 1 Tilapia fillet, about half pd. shrimp and scallops, and no crab meat. I kept everything else the same and add bread crumbs to the pepper, onion mix, and at the end with the parm cheese. So good,at the end with the breadcrumbs, don't be shy, the more the BETTER! Serve this with rice.It was about 5-6 servings. My hubby loved it!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
I have been wanting to make this salsa for sooo long... I finally made it with some help from the reviews, I used 1 carton of Strawberries, 2 Necterines, 3 Kiwis, and 2 Fugi apples. Before I put the apples into the bowl I squeezed half of a lemon on them, so they wouldn't brown. Then mixed the fruit with 2 Tbsp. Strawberry Preseves. No added sugar Tip: the more you mix, the juicier the fruit gets. Then instead of flour tortillas, I used whole wheat pitas, glazed with butter, and sprinkled with cinnamon, cut them in 4's and baked them in the oven, until they were brown. OMG!!! I brought them for Easter dinner, I got so many compliments. Everyone love it. Not only is is pritty and delicious, It's guiltless, too. I will be making this again. Thanks AR.

Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I attemted this cake a while ago. I don't know if it was my measuring, or the fact that I followed it to a T, and used 4 tsp of baking powder, I don't know, but it was very, dry. It crumbled so much I couldn't even cut it in half. I will try it again, but be sure to measure carefully, and only 2 tsp. baking powder the MOST!

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This was really good! I used ground cayanne pepper, crushed tomatoes, with one fresh tomato, cut up. A few gourmet sweet and spicy peppers from a jar, and red wine to the sauce. I did not use scallops because I had none on hand, but it was just as good without them.

These were good, the dough was a little bland, but all in all good. The dough wasn't as hard for me, it worked out fine, and the filling is pritty much exactly what I put into my Apple Pie. It taste like a mini Apple Pie.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I made this cornbread as a side to beef enchiladas, and it taste so good! It is similar to store bought, but better. A little crumbly, but delicious. I gave it 4 stars because I altered the recipe by using only 2 tsp. of baking powder, I think that worked out perfect! I'm so happy I found a cornbread recipe I love,I'll never buy it at the grocery store again. Next time I'll maybe add creamed corn, and jalepenos for a little kick.

Pizza Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This was a hit with my family...and when you can find a fast & tasty recipe that will satisfy 5 children and a hubby...its a keeper! I didn't have pizza sauce so I improvised with spaghetti sauce, still tasted great. I also added garlic, onion and seasoning salt, when the ground beef was cooking. This will be a great recipe for those rushed-I-need-something-fast-and-tasty-meal nights.

Meat Pie (Tourtiere)

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
My husband is French-Canadian and LOVES French Meat Pie. I lost my recipe when we were building our home and I couldn't quite remember all the little detail. This recipe is as close to perfect as you can get if you want authentic flavor! I tend not to measure a lot, but I added a little of this and a little of that from teh listed ingredients (also reading the many great reviews and getting some additional ideas) and made two pies. Well, there may be enough for three....I haven't finished assembling...but the meat filling is wonderful. I mashed half of the potatoes and cubed the other half, hubby's preference!

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
These are very delicious, and chewy. The only thing that I would change next time, and there will be a next time, is I found that the 2 teaspoons of vanilla seemed to be too much. It took away from the peanutty taste. Maybe I would do 1 teaspoon instead. I would maybe add pb chip, too. But thats only because I LOVE PBUTTER and chocolate together! But trust me, it wouldn't be too much Peanut Butter taste.

Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
This cake was magnificent!! I made it for my family for Valentines Day. It was quite a hit. I took the leftover cake to work and they LOVED it. Said how decadent and moist it was. It made too much batter and I used others advice and made cupcakes too. I also cooked it for 60 minutes. I will make this again definitely!!
