Spicy Garlic Panini Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
Great sauce that was enough for 3 large paninis. It was a nice change from plain mayonnaise and simple enough to make your own alterations to easily.

Apple Pie Liquor recipe

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I just made my 10th batch of this and it is SO good. The original recipe is fantastic but we like it a little stronger so I double the Everclear. When doubling the alcohol I use all brown sugar and replace 10 cups of the water with 10 cups of extra cider. I give it as gifts and people beg for it!! Either way you make it,it's excellent.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Great Sunday afternoon, football watching sandwich! Threw all the ingredients into the crockpot and added some extra hot sauce (Cholula) and it turned out great. I wouldn't change a thing at all.

Pasta e Fagioli III

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Thank you for giving me a good base recipe! I did as others suggested and used chicken broth, used more garlic, a small green bell pepper (diced) and more carrots (chopped baby carrots). Needed lots of salt and spices to jazz it up a bit. I served the soup with warm Italian bread.

Classic Tossed Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This is a good basic salad, best with fresh kalamata or nicoise olives instead of canned olives. I have used both dressing made from Italian Dressing Mix from this site and a homemade sweet balsamic dressing with good results.

Fuss Free Hot Cranberry Tea

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I cut the recipe in half and I still had a lot of fuss free cranberry tea! Taking another reviewer's suggestion I added some Fireball Schnapps to liven up the adult drinks a bit. This would be a great addition to an apre ski gathering!

I found the flavor to be delightful and loved that I could use my regular coffee and did not have to buy expresso beans! Do make sure that you brew your coffee double-strength, however. Delicious!

Nutmeg Cake

This cake was moist and delicious, with the flavor of the freshly grated nutmeg that I used shining through. The caramel icing was the perfect complement to this pleasant change to a traditional spice cake.

Restaurant Style Beef and Broccoli

Sometimes we find this type of meal too salty but, using low sodium soy sauce, this was excellent! I must come to terms with the fact that I just do not like round steak, however, and will use chicken next time around. Quick and simple, this is a great busy weeknight meal.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
Melt-in-your-mouth AMAZING! Thank you, Angie! These were incredible, and, so easy to make! We beat by hand (rather than with a beater) the chocolate mixture, which we felt would keep the texture chewy and crumbly (rather than tough). And, we didn't make the frosting. These brownies were the perfect mixture of sweet, rich, (but not too rich), and crumbly (while holding together). We made them in minutes, with minimal ingredients (but, used very good unsweetened chocolate: Ghirardelli's), and couldn't stop eating them! 10 Stars!

Greek Rice Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
I think I would have enjoyed this one much more if the rice was warm/hot when mixed with the other ingredients. I used artichoke hearts in place of the avocado, as I couldn't find a nice ripe one. After tasting the dish before serving, it needed something else, so I added some of the oil from the artichokes, a little red wine vinegar and extra salt & pepper. I did love the mint flavor in this and thought it was a nice addition.

Baked Chicken

I made some changes to throw it together with what I had. I didn't have dijon mustard, so I used a little honey mustard, and I used crushed sailor boy pilot bread. It turned out really crunchy and moist on the inside. Will make again!

Frank's Famous Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
As is not close to a 5 star. make a few changes and it could well be a five star recipe. Something I learned from the Italian wife of my brother, while sauting the onions and peppers, added the tomatoe paste and cook it till it starts to gets dark. This will add a great deal of charater and flavor to the finished sauce. I also used only freash herbs. I add the basil and oregano during the last 15 to 20 minutes of cooking because the herbs will have their flavor cooked out if left too long; this way the herbs will still have that bright fresh zing to them.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
What is it with potatoes in a Chicken Pot Pie? The addition of poultry seasoning is a must. I used just over a 1/4 teaspoon of , but I also added Savory. This really enhanced the flavor of the slow roasted herbed baked chicken I used. Instead of boiling the carrots I added them to the saute first then the onion and celery, a classic mirepoix. I added a bit more butter then the flour to make the roux. I also added 1/4 cup of white wine. I did away with use of a bottom crust and just used a top crust. It was an outstanding pot pie. I have also used a puff pastry to top the pie with great success. To me the greatest thing about Allrecipes is that I can find great starting points and then run with them. Saves so much time rather than trying to creat from scratch. There are a lot of real good people and cooks on this site, my love and thanks to you all.
